Rough Day?

Jake and Johnnie barely fight. Hell, Jake would go as far as to say that they have never fought once in their whole friendship. So it caught Jake off guard when Johnnie seemed to be in a damper mood than usual.

He busts through the door, tacobell bags in hand, "Honey! I'm home!" Jake says in his fake country accent.

He sets the bags down on the table and finds that the shorter man had yet to respond to his yelling, this was unusual for Johnnie. This is because Jake always gets his favorite orders, no matter what, so there's no way he's skipping out on food. Right?

The younger man decides to make his way to Johnnie's room to see if maybe he had fallen asleep, if he did he could just wake him up and they can eat together. No problem, Jake's schedule would be normal with only a minor inconvenience.

Jake knocks on Johnnie's door softly before speaking, "Johnnie I got you food..!" He exaggerates Johnnie's name as he waits for his answer. After a few select moments of silence, Jake decides to open the door incase Johnnie was sleeping like a rock.

He's met with Johnnie staring the ceiling while laying in his bed, a bit confused he walks up to Johnnie, "Hey, you gonna eat?"

Johnnie groans and sits up, shooting Jake a deadly glare, "No."

Shit. He doesn't want to eat, that's not what usually happens.

Jake's skin begins to crawl at the thought of not abiding by his everyday schedule, it's the only thing that keeps him feeling normal. The taller man raises his brow at Johnnie's glare, determined to get him to eat so he can at least salvage his day. Though he'll definitely feel off for the rest of the time he spends awake.

"C'mon man, you gotta be hung-"

"Jake I said no." Now, Jake is horrible at picking up on social cues but he could hear the obvious frustration boiling in Johnnie's voice. He looks around the room, clearing his throat. He's still not going to give up, no matter the circumstances.

"Okay, now I just think you're being a party pooper."

Johnnie growls under his breath, "I'm not feeling good and I said no, that means no, what do you not understand about that?"

"Johnn-"

"No Jake! Shut the fuck up! I'm not hungry!"

Okay, at this point Jake was getting frustrated himself. What a rude man to cuss at him for just wanting to feed him. Jake's vision for his perfect day is starting to squander as he sighs angrily, "What's wrong with you today? I just wanted to eat with you?!"

"And I don't want to fucking eat! What THE FUCK do you not understand about that?! Is this one of your autistic things? Because I really dont fucking care Jake!"

Ouch, that hurt.

Jake has only skimmed over his schedule with Johnnie a few times, but he's never told Johnnie that he's such a pivotal highlight of his day, so he can't really blame the guy for not understanding. But the way he was being was extremely irrational, Jake didn't do anything, right?

The tall man loses his words and walks out of his room in defeat, hearing Johnnie say, "Thank God" faintly through his door. Though it seems so small Jake feels like he's going to throw up.

He hates this, he hates when there are parts of his day missing, he hates when Johnnie isn't in a good mood, he hates everything about this whole situation.

Jake can feel a meltdown brewing up inside of him as he runs to his room. He's panting as his sweaty palms grab at the door handle. He can't hold back tears pouring out his eyes as he curls up on his bed, everything seemed ten times brighter and the world seemed to spin around him. He closes his eyes as his own head starts to throb with pain, his jaw clenching as he lets out sobs.

He keeps repeating to himself in the head that it's going to Okay its just a one time thing and Johnnie will feel better by tomorrow, but nothing can promise that. In fact, Jake is so disturbed as of now it feels like there are bugs crawling under his skin as he tries desperately to calm himself down. He's a man, a grown man. He shouldn't be crying like a baby over simple shit.

However everytime he thinks about the events that just took place it makes him want to curl up into a small ball and sob until he's no longer observable to the human eye.

It sucked that this was his only way of coveying emotions. Everyone around him told him he was being dramatic everytime he opened up about his emotional struggles.

Except for one person.

Jake shakily grabs his phone and opens it up, sniffing as he scrolls through his contacts. Eventually he finds the name he was looking for.

Tara.

He shoots her a text, breathing heavily as he tries to distract himself from what just happened. 'Tara can we call?'

Almost immediately after Jake texted her, Tara called. It was an unspoken rule between the two that if they use proper grammar in a sentence there's something wrong, so Tara didn't waste not one moment waiting on Jake.

Jake picks up the phone he's still sobbing lightly, which Tara can clearly hear,

"Jake what happened baby?"

Jake sniffs, though a bit disgusting Tara understands that the man is obviously in distress.

"Me and Johnnie like.. Okay wait let me tell the story from the start.."

Jake takes a deep breath before continuing, "I like got tacobell for me and Johnnie like I do everyday, and he didn't like... He didn't come to get the food so I went to get him and he like... He like got angry at me and refused to eat and.. I feel so fucking horrible because eating with him is apart of my schedule."

Jake is impressed with himself for saying that in one sitting with out sobbing in between, only a few sniffs breaking up his words.

Tara sighs, "Hey just take a deep breath, okay? It'll be okay. Maybe Johnnie is just having a bad day and he'll feel better tomorrow."

"That's what I was thinking.. But how do I know that? What if he just stops?! I'd probably end up exploding by the end or the week!!"

Jake's voice transitioned to distressed to panicked as he plays through the worst scenarios for the rest of the week.

"Just try and talk to him and be there for him. You know how he's struggled with some stuff in the past and maybe what he really needs is some support."

Jake sniffs again, "Yeah you're right.."

"I gotta go, I'm off to the beach. I love you and tell Johnnie I said I love him when you talk to him again. 'Kay bye!!"

"Bye.."

Jake takes the phones off of his ear as he watches the call end. He feels his eyelids grow heavy as he recovers from his fit. He looks to his door, deciding not to talk to Johnnie right this minute. He wraps himself in blankets and rolls over, staring at the wall as a million thoughts run through his mind.

Though nothing can keep Jake from succumbing to sleep, before resting he let's a small sniff escape his nose as his eyes glue shut.
