The sun lazily dipped below the horizon, casting a soft orange hue across the living area of Meerab and Murtasim's shared room. Meerab, with her raven-black hair cascading down her back, looked up from the magazine she was engrossed in and noticed Murtasim's phone lying unattended on the coffee table. An impish grin crept onto her face. Murtasim was notorious for being overprotective of his phone, always guarding it like a treasure chest. Also, since some days he had been coming home late, one night he didn't come, which made Meerab angry and curious, thinking constantly about his whereabouts. All the unusual events came rushing down her memory, and she knew what she was going to do now.

With a mischievous twinkle in her hazel eyes, Meerab's curiosity got the better of her. She tiptoed over to the table and picked up the phone. Ignoring the moral implications of her actions, Meerab quickly swiped to unlock the phone. She was met with the home screen, adorned with a picture of her, making her blush slightly.
