I left the hospital yesterday. I had been there for a month. I was itching to get home. Lucy, Vera, and Nat were laying in my bed with me. Andrew had started a job at a little coffee shop. He had told me all about it. He loves the people there. My phone rings and Vera hands it to me.
"Hey mom, I'm on my way home I got you guys breakfast. Well lunch now but whatever." Andrew's voice is happy through the phone.
"Ok baby that's fine. Thank you I love you." I smile hearing his voice. I haven't been able to get over hearing their happy voices. I missed them so much.
"Love you too mom, bye." Andrew hung up the phone and we went down to the living room.
The door opens. Andrew comes in and so does Sam his friend. "Hey momma Andy. I hope you don't mind I was going to spend the night."
"Of course no honey. Come sit down." He sits on the couch with us and watch a few movies. I wanted to cry. Dante had loved sitting around watching movies. I wish Ivan was here. He is working at the office today, and then is going home with his girlfriend.
It's late now. We ordered tacos for dinner. We ate dinner and caught up with how everybody was doing. Sam started an as a rookie in the police department. He was happy. He started dating a firefighter. He is happy with him. They are cute. I'm going to get to meet him next week.
I went to bed. I couldn't sleep because the images of Dante getting shot in the head wouldn't stop replaying in my head. Tears slip down my cheeks I silently cry. Vera slips into the room. She sees me crying. She gets into bed behind me and holds me.
"It's ok baby. Let it out. I'm here," she whispered soothingly in my ear. Sobs rack through my chest. Sleep rolled over me soon. Thankfully didn't have nightmares.
In the morning Vera brought me breakfast in bed. We sat there eating together. The door swung open. Aleksander ran over and jumped on me. I yelped in surprise. "Alek, get off me you horse." I laugh. He kisses my neck over and over. Vera and I are just laughing our asses off.
He finally props himself into his elbows. "I missed you so much." He snuggles his head into my neck.
"Alek, I was eating." I roll my eyes at him.
He sits up. "My bad, let me have some." He takes some of my fruit and eats it. We share the rest of my food and he lays on top of me agin. This time more comfortably. He is in between my legs with his arms around my waist and head on my chest. I'm pretty sure he fell asleep. Vera was out cold to next to me. I was feeling tired. Andrew peeked his head into the room.
"Hey mom, Sam and I are headed out. Love you." He come over quietly and kisses my head.
"Love you be safe." I whisper. I fall asleep. No nightmares came. I'm woken up by my phone ringing.
"Make is stop." Alek mumbled into my chest.
"Hello?" I answer the phone. Who is calling me? Why are they? I wanted to sleep.
