AT FIRST, PERCY thought he was still dreaming.
He blinked—long and hard. When his eyes opened, she was still standing there with those green eyes. She had him wondering if Aphrodite was playing tricks on him again.
Andromeda looked different than in his memories. Not that he was complaining. She still had her long curls, but now he could see smaller braids done within them. But that wasn't what caught his attention: Dangling from her neck was a locket in the shape of a heart. His body began to feel warm as he recalled his dream. A sense of relief had filled him when he realized he hadn't just imagined her.
He watched as she took a slow step towards him, and his body felt as if it were in a trance as he leaned towards her.
Then fate struck him—right in the face to be exact.
Next thing Percy knew, he was doubled over in pain as a deep sting resonated on the side of his face.
Shocked gasps erupted from the campers around them, all staring with wide eyes. Some began to surge forward, weapons at the ready, but Reyna raised a hand. "Hold!"
