Chapter 4: The hangout?

Setting: Bills casita

John
John felt as if time was going slow on purpose. He felt himself yearning for Bill in a way he hadn't felt in a long time. Eventually, it was time to leave and he took no time to pack up and leave. He waited outside a little and took out the note to type Bill's digits into his phone. He then felt a hand press on his shoulder and turned to find himself face to face with Bill as he looked over his shoulder. They stared for a good minute into each other's eyes and then Bill said "You want to go to my place?". The ride there was not as awkward as John thought it was gonna be and they actually hit it off. They talked about all sorts of things like favorite foods, places they want to visit, etc. They got to Bill's house and they both sat down on the couch. "Do you want some water?" asked Bill. John wasn't able to turn him down so he said yes. When he came back he sat down next to John and they started talking. Eventually they came to the topic of Bill's wife and his face changed. John couldn't pinpoint the exact emotion but he could see sadness and anger mixed into his face. John himself also couldn't help but feel angry at the thought of Bill with someone. John tried to question more about her but for some reason Bill kept finding ways to change the subject. "So do you want any kids?" John asked in an attempt to change the subject himself. At that bill's eyes lit up and he went on about how he had always wanted kids of his own to teach about science but his wife had always denied him. The way he mentioned his wife made him feel jealous. John muttered "I could treat you better" and Bill looked confusingly at him, asking him to repeat himself. John played it off and asked to use the bathroom and left Bill at the couch.

Time was picking at Bill little by little. He could not wait to go see his soon to be fling and get his stupid wife to see that he wasn't just a lame science guy and that he can mess around too. When it was finally time to leave he looked around for John but couldn't find him anywhere. Then he spotted him outside a window. By the time he got to him he was staring at his phone holding the note bill had given him. Bill smiled swiftly at the thought of his number in John's phone but stopped as he touched him on the shoulder. He stared deep into John's eyes and almost couldn't look away but thankfully John didn't seem to notice. Bill then asked if he wanted to go back to his place. On the way there they kept talking about many things and they had a lot of things in common. All throughout the conversation Bill wondered if maybe he was doing this partially because of his wife but maybe also because he genuinely took a liking to John. Before he knew it they were there and they went inside. Bill didn't want to go straight into it so he offered John some water. After all he was going to need it and Bill didn't want him to stop in the middle of it for some water. They continued their conversation and got to the topic of Bill's wife. He wasn't aware that he had let his distress show and John had definitely noticed. Bill didn't want to talk about her and especially not with John. But suddenly John brought up a topic that piqued Bill's interest. He had always wanted kids but everytime he brought it up with his wife, she had said there wasn't enough money or that she wasn't ready yet. She always used different excuses which annoyed Bill but he loved her so he dealt with it. Well used to anyways. Suddenly John muttered something that took him out of his thoughts. "I could treat you better"... It was barely audible but Bill had heard it very clearly. He asked him to repeat himself trying his hardest to not blush and smirk while putting on his confused face. John tried to say it was nothing and excused himself to go to the bathroom. Bill knew it wasn't nothing and he was going to make John admit to it whether he wanted to or not...
