You landed in a massive ball pit filled with thousands of multicolored plastic balls. You heard a loud noise coming from a balcony up above. Looking up, you noticed the incredibly tall sun animatronic, his hands above his head as if about to dive into the ball pit.
Suddenly, the massive yet slim animatronic dove into the sea of plastic balls as if it was a pool. You were extremely concerned. 'Cause... ya know... Sun is a very, VERY complex and heavy animatronic that just DOVE from a balcony that looked as if it was 1000 feet up in the air.
Seeing the giant animatronic jumping into the ball pit made you extremely concerned. After all, it was a very heavy and complex piece of machinery falling from what looked like one hundred feet in the air. You panicked slightly as you heard the sound of plastic balls hitting each other, the sound echoing through the huge, brightly lit daycare. The sound got closer, and closer, and closer, until...
"NEW FRIEND?!! WHERE ARE ALL YOUR FRIENDS?!" The massive animatronic screamed with excitement as he burst through the pool of plastic balls. He had his hands under your arms, holding you up and admiring as if you were a kitten.
You were very confused and a little bit scared. I mean... you were being held up in the air by an eight foot tall animatronic with spikes all around its head. "I uhm.... I work here," you said bluntly, trying to get him to put you back down on the ground.
He gasped and giggled as he held you up higher. "A NEW FOREVER FRIEND?!! WHAT'S YOUR NAME, FRIEND?!" His voice was very loud in the massive daycare, making you wince a little with how close he is to you.
You softly responded, "I'm Y/N," you paused as you thought for a moment, studying the animatronic's face before continuing, "What should I call you?"
"Call me Sunny!" His voice quieted down a little bit. It was as if he could sense your slight discomfort.
"...Sunny?" You looked down at him.
Sun looked up at you, "Yes?"
"Uhm..." you asked, scratching the back of your neck nervously, "Can you put me down? Please?"
Sun gently but quickly set you down on the hard floor next to the massive ball pit. He patted you on the head before climbing out of the ball pit himself. "S-Sorry, Y/N... I got a bit carried away... W-We just love new friends!" Sun looked away as he said these next words, as if talking to himself, "The last few forever friends haven't lasted longer than a week here..."
You went and sat in a small red chair that had been made for kids. "Who's 'we'?" You questioned while taking out a clipboard with things you had to do to get ready for the kids.
Sun froze in place. Laughing nervously, he said, "I-I didn't say that! The word 'we' never came out of my mouth! Nuh uh!" Sunny seemed very insistent that he never said "we".
You furrowed your eyebrows in confusion. "Okayyyy...." You continued looking over your new checklist.
You stood up from the small chair and starting setting out coloring books and boxes of blocks. Sun was muttering and mumbling to himself in the corner. You went and checked out the area around the play structure to make sure that there wasn't anything dangerous or sharp.
After you did a bit of setting up and checking the area, Sunny came up to you and placed a hand on your shoulder, causing you to flinch. "Y/N? What are you doing?"
You looked up at him with a confused expression on your face. "Getting the daycare ready?" You checked the time on your brand new Faz-Watch before continuing, "It's 7:30. The daycare's gonna open soon."
Sunny's eyes widened, "O-Oh no! New friend! Y-You don't need to do that!" He laughed nervously as he spoke, "Here! L-Let me get you comfortable!" Sun picked you up and set you down in the spinny chair behind the security desk.
You watched as Sundrop started setting out pink and green glitter glue for arts and crafts. Sun cleaned the entire daycare in what seemed like a fraction of a second.
Slightly annoyed, you told him, "Sun... this is my job. I won't get paid if I don't do anything." You stood back up and began cleaning up some bookshelves.
Sundrop picked you up again and put you back in the extremely uncomfortable security chair. "N-No need to worry about that, Sunshine!" Sun sounded extremely anxious. Your eyebrows furrowed in confusion at the nickname "Sunshine". Sunny started to speak again, "Don't worry! I'll make sure ya paid!"
"Okay..." you said, giving up on actually working.
Only a little while later, at 8:00 in the morning, the daycare doors open. The Superstar Daycare instantly flooded with children. The busy parents barely tried to make conversation while they dropped their sickly-looking children.
Now, you never really liked children. You only chose to work in the daycare because it was the best paying job in the area. 22$ an hour. Overtime was also an option for you, seeing as they didn't want to hire anyone to work the night shifts. That was a lot of money for just working in a daycare... A little suspicious...
You did the morning attendance. "25... 26... 27... 28... 28. That's... a lot," you counted aloud. There were twenty-eight kids in the daycare today. You watched as they all dispersed and went to their desired locations within the massive daycare. Most went up into the huge jungle gym that you hadn't dared to explore prior to opening. You knew that you probably should've inspected it, but you had always been afraid of heights. And besides, you were told that Sun was equipped with advanced first aid knowledge in case of any accidents.
Sundrop was over at one of the huge tables with a surprisingly large group of kids. He was doing arts and crafts with the insane amount of neon glitter glue he had set out. You noticed that most of the kids were making crayon drawings of Sunny. "They really like him, don't they?" You said quietly to yourself.
Just then, a little girl that was sitting with Sun noticed you. She stared at you for a moment before pointing in your direction. "Who's that?!" the little girl asked loudly.
