(Sorry this one's late. Next week's will be on time though. Again, sorry.)
Sunny gently grabbed you by the shoulders and pulled you towards the table filled with kids and craft supplies. "This is Y/N! Our new forever friend!" Sun said, as if showing you off to the children. He continued, "Can everyone say hello to Y/N?
The kids greeted you happily, sweet smiles on their faces. "Hi, Mr/Ms Y/N!" Their voices mixed together. Some of the kids looked at you for a moment before returning to their sock-puppets and crayon drawings.
Sun pulled you a little closer and spoke quietly, "Sorry to be a bother... but could you go play with the kids in the play structure? I-I only ask because the last time we went in there, we got stuck..." He laughed nervously.
You swallowed audibly. You had been fearing the massive jungle gym from the moment you walked inside the daycare. You knew it was an irrational fear, it was just a big playground for kids after all... However, you were always afraid of heights, and the jungle gym in the daycare looked as if it was a million stories high. (And smelled like feet) But you decided to be brave, like the professional adult you are. "Okay. What do they like to play in there?" You asked, wanting to have a head start on getting to know the kids. You didn't even notice that Sun had referred to himself as "we" again.
"Tag, hide and seek, hide and seek tag..." Sunny listed while counting on his fingers, "Really any game you could think of," he replied before going back to making his own sock puppet with several googly eyes.
With that barely useful information, you reluctantly walked over to the huge jungle gym. Your first thought was to try and climb up the slide. You got on your hands and knees and tried to climb up the giant blue slide. Why was this your first instinct? Nobody knows.
After a few minutes of trying to climb the slide, you FINALLY realized that there was an opening on the ground level. You crouched down and climbed through the small, child-sized opening. Your eyes hurt a little as you took in all of the bright and flashy colors, but you got used to it quickly.
Looking around, you noticed that all the kids were running around, presumably playing tag. A little boy came up to you, tagged you and yelled, "TAG! You're it, Mr/Ms Y/N!" The kid laughed and ran away.
You tried to run to tag a kid. This was the day you would learn just how hard it was to run while crouching. You inch your way around the play structure before finally reaching an unsuspecting kid and tagging them. You just sort of... rolled away. The kids you passed just stared at you, looking very confused.
You tried your best to entertain the children while also staying on the ground floor, which you soon found was near impossible, especially considering the amount of kids in the jungle gym. You watched the kids in the playground for a few hours. Some kids ran off to join Sunny, some ran off to do other things, some kids even ran into you.
After a long while of watching the many children, you looked at the arts-and-crafts table through the netting of the jungle gym. Your heart sank to your feet when you noticed that Sun was no longer there. You couldn't help but feel responsible for Sun's disappearance. You crawled out of the playground as fast as you possibly could in search of Sunny.
You didn't want to alarm any of the kids, so you didn't call out for Sun. After all, he is a seven and half foot tall animatronic, he shouldn't be THAT hard to see. Your first thought was that Sunny was in the staff room. I mean, he is technically staff. I think...
You tried your best to navigate your way through the sea of five year olds to make your way to the staff room. "How the fuck did i manage to lose a massive animatronic on my first day?!" You said to yourself.
Suddenly, you heard Sunny's loud voice coming from directly behind you. "LANGUAGE!!" You heard him yell. You flinched at how incredibly loud his voice was. Sun continued speaking, "Now now, Sunshine... We can't have you saying any of those naughty words in the daycare!" He said while waving his finger at you, crossing his arms across his chest in frustration while shaking his head.
You whipped your head around to look at him. "What the fuck... WHERE DID YOU GO?!" You snap, very, VERY confused.
"SUNSHINE!" He gasps dramatically before continuing, "You know you can't use that... terrible language in here!" He didn't notice that you were blushing a little at the nickname.
You stepped back. "Wait, wait, wait... What did you just call me?
"I called you 'Sunshine'. Is there something wrong with that? I-I've been calling you that for a little bit..." Sun said, trying to get the subject away from where he was.
You signed, pinching the bridge of your nose. "Just... stop calling me that, okay?" You said frustratedly, looking up at him. You continued, "Now, tell me where you were, or else I will tell my manager."
Sunny's eyes widened at your threat, "NO! N-NO NO NO!" Sunny panicked a little, the kids watching without us noticing. "D-don't tell management! I-I was in the f-first aid station! A-a kid fell so I was getting a band aid!" He pulls a band aid out of thin air, the kids looking amazing.
"Oh." You said, believing him despite your intense suspicion. "Okay, just tell me before leaving the daycare, okay? Next time?"
He seemed extremely relieved. "O-okay. I'll tell you next time."
"Okay," you said as you checked your faz-watch. Your eyes widened at how fast the time had gone by. It was already 5:30, the end of the day at the daycare. "It's time to close, Sunny."
You and Sun helped all of the kids get their stuff together and ready to leave. The children's parents started gathering at the daycare pick-up center as you did end of the day attendance. You made sure that all the kids were still there before releasing them so they could go to their parents and leave. One little girl named Candice even hugged your leg before she left.
After all of the kids had left, you and Sunny started cleaning up. You walked over and helped Sun clean up the glitter glue that had gotten stuck on the table. "So..." you started, "where were you really?"
He laughed anxiously, "I-i don't know what you're talking about, Y/N!" Sun scrubbed the table harder.
"Look, I know that you weren't at the first aid station. Where were you?" You questioned.
"I was telling you the truth! I-I promise!" He stuttered, visibly anxious despite being made of metal.
You sighed, knowing that it would be completely useless to argue with him. "Whatever. I don't care anymore," you replied, completely exhausted from your long day of taking care of other people's kids.
While Sun kept cleaning, you went to the security desk to get your stuff so you could leave. As you packed up your stuff, you noticed an odd piece of paper sticking out of a drawer. You opened the drawer hesitantly and took the big stack of papers out. They looked like missing papers. All of the people in the pictures were wearing SuperStar Daycare uniforms, and were in the daycare.
You were ever concerned. "Sun? Can you come here for a minute?" You called out, NEEDING to know what this was all about.
(Author's note: you'll meet moon eventually. Don't worry.)
