Today is the first day of college and I'm stuck in a hot, crowded car with Caleb. I look out the window and see the highway. Other cars of different colors zoom past us, but not the one car that I'm looking for. I hear my phone go off and look around for it.
"Get off me!" Caleb practically yells in my ear.
"No!" I yell back at him.
"Both of you hush up. Your father is driving," our mother snaps at us.
"Mom, I need my phone," I say.
"Caleb give you sister her phone."
"Ugh..." he says as he hands it over to me.
I look at my phone and see that I have one missed call from Tobias. Thanks, Caleb, I really needed that. I sigh and dial his number on the keypad, I put the phone up to my ear as it rings.
"Momma?" Skyler says into the phone.
"Yes, it's me. What's up?" I ask.
"I listen daddy sing with radio. It funny," she says giggling, then I hear some noise in the background.
"Hey Tris," Tobias says.
"Hey Toby. -" "Gross! Eww! Spare me from this torture!" Caleb yells.
I cover my phone's microphone.
"Mom, can you tell him to stop?" I whine.
"Both of you! Be quiet for once!" my dad snaps at us and I go back to talking on the phone.
"SCP" I say into the phone and Tobias laughs.
"What dat mean?" Skyler asks.
"Sorry, Caleb Problems," Tobias says and I smile.
"So where are you guys?" I ask.
"Few miles away from the school, and you?" Tobias says.
"Same. I can't wait!" I say.
"I can. I hate school, but sadly in this world you need an education." Tobias says and Skyler laughs.
"Skyler, that's what you get for dating a 'bad boy' in high school," I joke.
"Hey! Bad boys get offended too ya know," Tobias says.
"Also, mommy look out the car window." Skyler says.
I look out the window and see them in their car. Skyler waves as she smiles at me and Tobias keeps his eyes focused on the road ahead of him. Skyler hangs up the phone and we just make faces at each other.
Then we lose them as we drive though a small town and get to the school campus. We drive in and park in front of the dormitories.
