Chapter Two: Father & Magic

I had been in my new life for twenty years now, my father was truly the great man I had ever met, he was so wise and knowing.
He had passed his love of learning to me but also his love of collecting knowledge building the first true library to ever be built, when ever a traveller came, we would write their stories and if possible learned a new language, it was strange in my old life all these were dead languages and now I could speak Aramic, Gaulish, Ancient Greek, Latin or a version of it fluently.
I have learned the language of the Sumerian, Akkadian, and Egyptian, and it made communication with different people a lot easier. My father had just come back from the Greco-Persian wars. He was thrilled that he made such an accurate account.

I looked out at the rest of Halicarnassus in Asia minor that was part of the Persian Empire, we were waiting for my uncle Theodorus and Panyassis to come over after they checked on their families.
I was the only one in my family with green eyes with flecks of gold and brown, my beautiful brown skin and dark brown hair that felt like silk, my father's family knew I was technically a demi goddess and they did not care, they loved me as I did them

We had decided recently that we wanted to travel more as we had decided to travel, we would go through Dorian City toward Egypt, Tyre, Euphrates, Babylon, and then Greece.
I was looking at creating a space of some kind to store all my knowledge because time would not be kind to any works we had, I knew it would destroy everything that we had worked for, including making the first Grimwore as it was not meant to come to being for another three thousand years but there was so much to learn while people were still to willing to share, so it took a while but I created a cover made of leather and spelled in certain liquids to ensure its protected, then I wrote every spell my family knew and all the families within the empire before making another two for my travels with my father, I knew Egypt would not be united yet but they would have other magic I could learn and grow with.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when my uncle Theodorus cleared his throat.

"My dear Ari,"

"Uncle"

I ran to him and gave him a hug. He laughed before spinning me around with a laugh then out me down when my father walked into the room.

"Theo, good to see you, brother."

"You as well. Are you ready for your journey?"

"Yes, Brother, we are both ready. You will watch my work while we are away, won't you."

"Of course."

Theo agreed right away because he knew how important this was to both of us, I made sure to hold copies in another place with magic, making people stay away from the area.
I knew at some point magic would be forced to this, but till then, I would learn what I could of magic and other things. My father agreed with me, and I introduced him to different designs for fly machines or special wagons to transport goods.
My family had been talking more recently about my marriage, but my father had stated more often than not that I would choose when I am ready, which was uncommon in this time as most girls are married by their first moons blood and no matter how many times try to tell the family and other people they ignore it because their either uncomfortable or just do not care.

A few weeks later, we were preparing to leave. I had finally managed to do a Harry Potter and created an expandable bag that was also light weight with that I managed to put a lot of our supplies inside of it.
We said goodbye to our family and then started our travels. Over the course of the next few years, we travelled to town to town, country to country. It was interesting meeting new people and learning their ways, I was introduced to many types of magic during my journey, including different types of necromancy.
