──────────────────They were all home and the house was quiet with Heeseung napping on the couch in the living room. He was peacefully sleeping, until Boreum, Dasom, Okemia, and Hayun appeared in front him. The boy fluttered his eyes open slowly, feeling the presence of someone.
"Ah!" Heeseung fell off the couch and landed on the floor. The girls weren't even trying to scare him, so he scared himself.
Heeseung massaged his forehead, hoping not to get a bump or bruise. "Say something guys. Nearly had a heart attack." He said.
Eventually, Boreum and them also sat down. "What are you getting for Misun's birthday?"
The calm expression that the boy held soon turned into a frantic one. They obviously seen his look and furrowed their eyebrows. "Unbelievable, you didn't forget did you?"
"No! What? What are you talking about?" He nervously said. Heeseung mentally punched himself for not remembering her birthday. There was no reason to ask forget it because she was literally in the missing person case too.
Okemia who sat next to him, slammed her arm on his back, causing him to fall to the floor again. "Hey! What was that for?" He glared at her.
"I can't believe you forgot!" She said, huffing for her dearest friend.
Heeseung realized they knew he totally forgot for a second. But that only made him think further into his head, what was he going to get Misun for her birthday?
"Wait, November 26th? That's in 4 days!" He shocked himself. He looked at the others who seemed calm and less freaked as Heeseung.
"You just realized that too?" Dasom asked, sighing because Misun's lover wasn't very smart with love compared to their studies.
"Sorry guys..." Heeseung replied, smiling nervously and scratching his head.
"What are you guys getting her?" He asked. "We'll all be treating misun out somewhere the day after her birthday." Boreum told him as an answer.
"I don't know what to get her.." He said sadly. "I mean, what would she enjoy?"
"We don't know either, which is why we're going to take her out so she can choose what she likes." Okemia answered.
"Smart. This is very stressful." Heeseung gripped onto his hair. He knew misun for a big part of his life but never really had known what would make her enjoy something.
"Maybe you should ask her? It doesn't hurt to try." Hayun kindly smiled, suggesting to do what she said.
With continuing on, Heeseung decided to get up from the couch. He needed to prepare for Misun's birthday, but first he wanted a plan. He then ended up in front of her door, twisting the door ever so softly, sensing that she might still be in slumber.
He peeked his head silently through the door. "Oh, you're awake?" Heeseung asked.
Misun was sitting on her desk chair, facing her head towards him. "I woke up 10 minutes ago." She explained, but soon yawned after.
The boy fully came in the room and closed the door behind him. Heeseung stepped closer to Misun while she looked up at him with doe eyes. He brought his hand to be attached with hers and stood her up to embrace her.
She was surprised at first but reciprocated the warmth back to him. Misun held him with arms around his neck while Heeseung occupied the area on her waist. She rested her head on his shoulder and he tucked his head into her neck. Misun felt his breathing and for a second, his lips were on her neck which made her jolt up inside.
"So warm, I love it." Heeseung said in low voice, giving her goosebumps on the bottom of her back and up.
Misun softly laughed at him, "I love it more." She smiled dearly at the wall thinking of him.
Heeseung removed his head from her neck but still held his arms around her waist. She turned up at him, feeling the cold air hit her skin once again. The girl was taken off guard to see him just staring at her.
"Is something wrong?" Misun asked. He snapped out of it and smiled again at her.
He then removed his arms from her and sighed very loudly. Misun felt dumbfounded and saw as Heeseung threw himself to sit on her bed, pouting very sadly. She was obviously concerned, seeing how her boyfriend seemed so depressed.
"Heeseung, what's wrong?" She asked again, now sitting down next to him and touching his shoulder.
The boy slowly turned his head to her and looked her in the eyes like he had been found guilty. "I'm sorry misun, I don't know what to get you for your birthday."
"My birthday?... Oh! That's right, my birthday!" She clapped her hands together, making Heeseung realize something too.
His frown turned into a bright smile from the girl next to him. Heeseung wasn't going to say anything about though. He wouldn't want to lecture her into forgetting her own birthday.
What made heeseung widen his eyes was when she placed a kiss on his cheek. Heeseung snapped his head, holding his cheek with one of his hands. h
He'd seen misun already smiling warmly at him. "It's okay, you don't have to get me anything.""What? That's nonsense, I want to get you something." He said with determination.
Misun frowned a bit, "But I don't know what I would want." The idea soon popped into her head. She gasped for a short second, "Here's an idea! If you really want to get me a gift, you can surprise me."
"Misun-ah, I really can't think of anything that would wow you." Heeseung said, eyebrows pulling down on his face.
She stood up and placed herself in front him. All the boy could do was look back at her. Misun took ahold of his collar and told him, "Heeseung, I will love and be grateful for anything that you give me, okay?"
"Even if it's a simple origami object, a single flower, or just your presence, I will cherish it."
Even though Heeseung didn't get the idea for her birthday present yet, he calmed down and felt comforted by Misun's words of affirmation. He knows that it's only up to him now to get a gift that will stand out.
