DREAMS OF RUKIA: Chapter Thirteen

Nel and I continue to run through Squad 7's barracks, almost through to the other side. But, before we can exit a hulking Soul Reaper lands directly in front of us. It's Squad 7's Captain, Sajin Kommamura. He growls as I stop dead in my tracks, my eyes widening.

"W-Who's that big wolf man?"

"Nel, get back. This guy's another Captain. "

"You are correct, Tsuchiya. So you must know that you are no match for me."

"That's where you're wrong. I nearly killed Kensei! He's currently missing a right arm and bleeding out! Who says that won't happen to you as well?" Kommamura stays silent for a while, before drawing his Zanpakuto, Tenken. 

"What you forget is that I am no Kensei. I am much stronger than he is, so if you don't want to die I'd suggest you surrender and let me bring you in unharmed."

"Tch. Like hell I will! Congeal, Tsumetai Shiroi Mofu!" My axe forms as I draw my blade, throwing my clenched fist in front of me.

"Second Movement: Tsukisasu Kori no Bimu!" (Piercing Ice Beam)

From my fist, a concentrated beam of ice careens towards Kommamura, and shoots right through the left side of his abdomen. Instead of wincing in pain, he laughs.

"Is that it? Just a beam of ice? Pitiful."

"That's not all." I pierce the ground and point my axe at him, a wave of frigid water freezing Kommamura's left arm and part of his torso. However, he breaks his arm free and swings Tenken at me, but I block with my axe. Then, I use Tsukisasu Kori no Bimu again to pierce Kommamura's chest where his heart is, and he roars, throwing me off him.

"I respect exploiting any opportunity that comes across, that's very Kyoraku of you. However, I will not tolerate this!!" Kommamura grabs my arm and throws me across the barracks, and Nel runs after me.

"TsuTsu!" She finds me in a dent in a wall, coughing. I get up slowly.

"I'm fine, Nel. Besides, you can just heal me later. But without a Bankai, this will prove difficult, even more than Kensei." I charge back towards Kommamura and swing my axe at his legs, cutting his knees. He falls to his knees, but gets up slowly and grabs my face, slamming me into the ground. I use this opportunity to grab Kommamura's foot, freezing it to the ground. I know he'll break free, but he'll be in pain and it will buy me time. As he claws at his frozen foot I roll back, staggering to my feet. 

Nel, now in her Gamuza form again, throws her lance at Kommamura's head, shaving a part of his ear off before it comes back to Nel. She helps me steady myself as I think of what I could do next.

But before I can, Kommamura roars at me.

"You're quite the pest, Tsuchiya! Your ice is strong, but not strong enough! I will not let you pass, so long as you defy the laws of Soul Society!" He breaks his foot free and takes a stance.

"Bankai! Kokujo Tengen Myo'oh!!"

"No..."

As I witness the massive warrior rise behind Kommamura, I realize how in too deep I am. I try to charge at Kommamura, knowing if I hurt his Bankai he'll get hurt too, but before I can reach him the massive blade of his Bankai slams down on me, almost slicing my shoulder and side in half, therefore incapacitating me in one hit. I try to get up but the wound just opens more. 

"TsuTsu no!" Nel gallops towards me, picking my body up and using Sonido to escape. When I come to, Nel is coughing.

"Nel, are you ok?"

"I will be. Your wound was so huge I ran my throat dry with my saliva to fix it! That wolf man's Bankai must have hurt!"

"It did, thank you for getting me out of there Nel." I slam my fist onto the ground. "All these Captains with their Bankai, and here I am with a heavy axe that fires ice beams and afflicts frostbite! There's no way I can beat any of them without a Bankai!!"

"Shh, TsuTsu. How can you learn Bankai?"

"I can't! At least, not without someone training me. Plus, most Bankai take centuries to gain! I don't have a hundred years, I have four days!" I stand up, helping Nel up.

"We have to keep going, and avoid all Captains at any cost."

"Sounds good!"

Captain Kommamura absolutely mauls Tsuchiya with his Bankai! There's no way he'll be able to defeat any of the Captains without it. But who'll train him? It seems like the whole Court Guard is after him and Nel!
