DREAMS OF RUKIA: Chapter Two

DISCLAIMER: THERE WILL BE SPOILERS FOR MAJOR EVENTS IN BLEACH AND ITS SUBSEQUENT LIGHT NOVELS. If you don't wish to be spoiled, don't read as you'll get spoiled!

Night finally came. I had dreaded the day, more than usual, because I REALLY wanted to dream about Rukia again. Not just because I got to interact with one of my favorite Bleach characters AND to have her be my friend, but also because something was unfolding within my dreams. It seems as though an alternate timeline of Bleach exists in the real world!

"Good, you're back. I've been waiting for you."

Rukia's sitting cross-legged on my bed as I jolt 'awake' in my dream.

"R-Rukia! I didn't expect you to be in my room! Don't you know about privacy?"

Rukia crawls next to me and lays down on the bed, arms folded behind her head.

"Comfy bed you got here. I can see why you love it so much. Anyway, you wanted answers. I will provide you some more, and I will be taking you to Soul Society."

"SOUL SOCIETY? Is that even allowed?"

"Yes, I already got Head Captain Kyoraku's permission." 

Rukia takes my hand and turns her head to face me.

"First off, those 'inner demons' of yours? They're all powerful Hollows. Gillian class, to be exact, with their leader being an Adjuchas."

"X? X is an Adjuchas?" 

"Yes, did I stutter? You're lucky he isn't a Vasto Lorde." 

"Fair enough. And you said they're all Hollows?"

"Yes. Hollows can only materialize in the dreamscape, and in extreme or total darkness, making them dangerous."

"Makes sense. Why are you telling me this?"

"To further prove to you that you're spiritually aware. You didn't seem to believe me at all last night, tawake."

She smacks me upside the head.

"Ow!"

"Anyway..."

Ignoring my cry of pain, she closes her eyes and suddenly we're transported to Soul Society. Just inside the gates, Rukia begins to walk me towards the Squad 13 Barracks. On the way there, we walk past Captain of Squad 2, the master of stealth herself, Soi Fon. But, instead of her usual brash, immature demeanor, she smiled warmly and waved at us as we passed by. It felt... wrong. I didn't say anything about it though, as to everyone but me that's totally normal.

When Rukia takes me into her quarters, she sits me down on the floor directly across from her. She places her hands on my knees and leans in towards me.

"Listen to me. You're special. I'm going to lend you a fraction of my power, and make you a Substitute Soul Reaper."

"WHAAT?! But, but, but... But won't that make you lose your power?'"

Before I could freak out more, Rukia slaps me across the face.

"TAWAKE!! Let me finish! I'm a Captain, I'll only lose a fraction of my power and I'll regain it quickly. Now sit still, I promise this won't hurt at all."

She holds out her hand, a sword of pure blue light forming before our eyes. Gripping the blade, Rukia stabs me with the sword, and I gasp in shock. Almost immediately I'm stricken with chills, goosebumps and just plain cold. I collapse to the ground, quickly blacking out.

"Are you ok, Tsuchiya?" I barely heard Rukia as I blacked out, waking up in the real world. I was still super chilly, putting on multiple layers of clothing but it barely helped. Thankfully, finals had finished up so I didn't have to take a day off, as I just sat around and watched Bleach for most of the day.

What happened to me? What did Rukia's blade of light do that made me so cold? And how was I still cold in the real world?!

Desperate for answers, I went to bed early to hopefully escape the cold. Little did I know what would happen to me in the following dream...

Hey hey! Chapter Two is done! It's slightly shorter than Chapter One, because more things happened in this dream and I'd rather have only one dream occur than two long ones in one chapter. I promise Chapter Three will follow very shortly! Thank you so much for reading!
