KITCHEN
NIGHT
-------------

"Alright, we have everything else, we just need one tear, and I never cry," Mal stated.

"Okay? Just chop up some onions." Carlos said to her like it was obvious.

"No, it says we need one tear of human sadness. The love potion needs the best, so we have to follow it exactly." Mal looked down at the book, looking over the instructions again.

"Why does it matter? A tear's a tear." Jay added.

"No, it's not, Jay. They both have antibodies and enzymes, but an emotional tear has more protein-based hormones than a reflex tear." She corrected him.

"Oh yeah," Jay nodded. "I knew that." He heard a snicker from Casin, and his head snapped over to him. "I did!"

Footsteps walked towards the kitchen, and the door opened. Lonnie walked into the room and saw the five. "There you are, Mal! I was looking for you. All the girls want you to do their hair." She stepped towards the table. "Midnight snack, huh? What're you making?"

"Just cookies," Mal told her. Lonnie dipped her finger in the dough to taste it. "No, no, no!" She warned her, but it was too late. They all stood, waiting to see if it had affected her. "Do you feel anything? Do you feel like it's missing something?"

She thought about it. "Hm, it could use some chips." She walked to a cabinet and took some chocolate chips back to where they were.

"And those are?" Mal asked.

"Chocolate chips. Wait, didn't your moms make you any chocolate chip cookies? Like, when you're feeling sad? Then you just smell cookies that are fresh out of the oven with a big glass of milk and she tries to make you laugh and..." She noticed everyone was looking at her. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"It's just, things are different on the island." Mal looked down.

"Yeah, I know. I just thought that even villains love their kids..." She saw how their faces didn't change. "Oh, I'm so sorry." She placed her hand on Mal's. A tear fell from her eye. Mal looked up and quickly took notice of it, swiping the tear off her cheek and into the dough.

"Yeah, well, it's a bummer. But we really have to get these cookies in the oven. Have a good night, evil dreams!" Mal rushed. Lonnie turned around and walked out of the room. "Goodnight." She concluded.

"See you tomorrow!" She replied before the door fully closed. "Okay, boys, cookie sheet. Evie, oven."

MAL AND EVIE'S DORM

"The plans have been going smoothly. We have the cookies, but who's going to give him the cookies?" Mal inquired. "Ben has to be the first person to eat the cookie. I know I'm not doing it. Does anyone want to do it?" The silence that ran through the room said all that needed to be. "Okay, so, who do we give it to?"

"We could give them to Lillia. Ben and her are close, right?" Casin suggested.

"How would that help us?" Jay questioned. "He said the only people who would be next to the wand were his girlfriend, family, and close friends. Evie and Mal aren't going to give him the cookies."

"You think if ya'll become Lillia's close friends, she'll let you be next to her? Or even better, she might ask Ben, and since he'll be in love with her, it'd be hard for him to say no." Casin shared his ideas, and the others gave words of agreement.

"That'll work, Casin. Good idea. Now, classes are about to start, and if we leave now, we both should be at our lockers at the same time. Ben would probably be right next to her. She'll be the first person he thinks of." Mal stood up. We have to go."
