I hear my alarm and I don't have any energy whatsoever to get up.
I can do another day of my life again.
I get up, do my shower and I make sure to cover my face and neck with makeup.
I go to my closet and put on my back jeans and a hoodie with my Converse.
I go downstairs and exit the house and I lock the door. Jason's car still isn't here, he probably slept at some female's house.
I get to work by 8:45 and I start cleaning. Ashley and Ana walk in and I try my best to look happier so that I don't worry them.
"Good morning Ali", "Good morning Ashley," I say with the biggest smile I can master. "Did you eat breakfast today?" she asks, "I'm not even gonna bother lying to you" I say.
"You better not," she says and she passes me the same thing she gave me yesterday. "Thank you," I say.
"Hey, Ali. Are you ok" she asks with a worried face. "Yes, I'm fine. Why?" "Well I tried calling you yesterday and you weren't picking up," she says. "I'm sorry, I was asleep", "Oh OK, how was it at Adam's?" She asks and I try my best to not let the tears well up in my eyes and my voice not come out shaky I reply with, "It was fine, we broke up", "Oh thank goodness, finally. I know you really liked him but that relationship wasn't healthy and I'm glad its over. But I still hope you're OK and if you ever need to talk I'm always here."
She's right, it wasn't healthy, he was always telling me who to talk to, what to wear and so on. But when I've grown up to only know that kind of relationship, it seems normal now. I didn't realize it then and that's my fault but I did generally like him.
I put on my mask once we opened and 10 minutes after we opened, customers started coming in and I was trying my best to not sound like I was going through anything and I was completely focused.
---
After 3 hours Ana comes to me and we start talking. "Ali, he's not here," she says. "Don't worry, I'm sure eyes gonna come soon, just have some patience. If you guys are meant to be, you'll definitely see him again." I say.
"You're right. You give such good advice" She says and I smile.
---
It's finally time to close up so we're just cleaning up before we close.
Once we're done with that we exchange goodbyes and I head home.
I used to be afraid of walking in the dark but I eventually got used to it. Things still happen but I just learned to not entertain any of it.
Once I reached the house, I saw Jason's car in the driveway.
I enter the house and close the door behind me and I see Jason standing in the kitchen.
"Where is my food?" He asks, "I just got home I'm gonna start on it now. "You better, bitch. It's good you wear that face mask. I'm already traumatized enough from seeing your ugly face at least others aren't." He says and tears start forming in my eyes, "Aww, is the pathetic little cunt going to start crying?" He says and starts laughing maniacally.
I walk into the kitchen and I start chopping up vegetables and making everything that's needed.
I take his food to the living room where he's sitting with a beer in his hands and 2 bottles on the floor and put it on the table.
"You better not eat any of that food." He says but I already know that. He doesn't let me eat anything. Sometimes I go into the kitchen and just take a fruit and hope he doesn't find me but sometimes he does. I only do that when I'm super hungry but I've gotten used to only eating that one meal at the cafe.
Once I'm done, I clean up the kitchen and pack all the food. Once I am done I head upstairs and into my room, I take a shower, put on something to sleep in and then I go to bed.
