The confession

*Sokka's Pov*

I woke up the next day cuddled up next to Aang. If the circumstances were different, i would've enjoyed this. I sigh and stand up.

I decide to start making breakfast for us. I get the things out of the tent and start a fire. Aang then walks out.
" Mornin Sokka!" He says happily.
" Morning." I say.
" What's for breakfast?"
" Same as always."
" Neat. Well I'm gonna go wash up in the lake."
I nod and he walks off. I take a quick glance at him and continue cooking.

After breakfast, Aang and I just swim, lay down, and talk all day. It was now sunset. We were sitting together with our feet in the lake.
"I always loved watching sunsets." Aang says.
"I never really cared for them." I say.
" They're so beautiful. Aren't they?" He asks. We look at each other. He looks so beautiful with this light. I get that feeling back in my stomach. Only this time it feels like it's trying to escape me. Before i know what happened, i leaned in and kissed him. He looks shocked for a second. His eyes are really wide. He then pushes me off.
"Sokka! I-i didn't know that you...i mean I'm not...i don't swing that way!" He says. I feel my heart break.
"Aang. I-I'm sorry! I don't know what came over me!" I say.
"I guess this explains a lot." He says.
I get tears in my eyes. I then run off. I run into the forest and don't stop until i trip on a log. I then start crying my eyes out. The tears don't stop coming. Why did i kiss him!?! What possessed me to do that? I probably just ruined our friendship.

I finish crying but don't get up. I curl up in a ball and just lay there. The ground feels soft from all the moss. I would've stayed there but i know that Aang would worry. Or would he?

I go back to our little paradise. Well, now it was a place of horrible memories. I decided to sleep on Appa. It would just be weird if i went in the tent. I climbed up and got ready to sleep. I just wish this day never happened.

I wake up and notice that something feels strange. It felt like the ground was moving. I sit up and notice that Appa is flying. I look over to the front and see Aang at the reins.
"Aang? What's going on?"
"Hmm? Oh, i was taking us back to the temple."
" Why? Is something wrong?"
" No. Just go back to sleep Sokka. I'll wake you up when we're there."
I nod and lay back down.

"Sokka. Sokka wake up. We're here."
"Mmm. I don't want to fight the fire nation yet." I mumble.
" Me either buddy. Now get up."
I yawn and get up. I notice that it is still early. Really early.
" Dude, it's so early that i don't think Katara is up yet." I say.
"Aang! Sokka!" Speak of the devil.
Aang laughs.
" Guess not." He says.
Aang and Katara hug and i stand there trying not to look awkward.
" You guys are back early." She says. Aang blushes and scratches the back of his neck.
" Yeah. Guess we are." He says.
"Sokka? How was it? Did you get over your gloomy depression about that question that's been bugging you?" She asks.
" Yeah. That one has been solved" I say walking away.

"But it also started a new problem."
