Her (Double Life)

ZombieCleo hit the ground too hard.

InTheLittleWood went off with a bang.

Scott stopped in his stride for a second as his communicator buzzed, he assumed it was Cleo messaging him about some flower or a new battle plan but when he read over the messages he broke into a sprint, "Cleo!"

Pearl laughs maniacally as her 'soulmate' came into view, "Well hello there Scott-" she cut herself off when he didn't acknowledge her.

Scott fell to his knees, pushing on Cleo's chest rapidly, "Come on. Wake up Cle. Please! What am I meant to do without my soulmate?"

"She is not your soulmate Scott!" Pearl yelled, grabbing her sword from its sheath, "I am your soulmate! You've ignored me all season but like it or not, we are universally tied together!" She drew her blade to a fighting stance.

"No Pearl. We may have been soulbound by the universe but Cleo was my soulmate by choice!" Scott hissed, still trying to revive his dead best friend despite knowing in his heart that it wouldn't work.

From behind Scott, the ghost of Cleo placed a hand on his shoulder, "He has to let me go if he wants to win, he knows you can't bring back a red after their final death."

Martyn stood beside Cleo, guilt eating him up, "I'm so sorry I got us so low."

"Don't even worry, we were second as a couple and overall we placed really well," Cleo watched as Scott slowly stopped compressing her corpse's chest.

Scott reached into his coat pocket, "You know Pearl, most other pairings would have accepted this as a dual win but unfortunately, we are not soulmates and so only one of us can win."

"Scott, I do not want to kill you," Pearl may have hated being abandoned but hurting Scott meant hurting herself.

"You don't have to."

"What's he doing?" Grian hissed, flying above the duo just enough to hear them both, "What's he planning?"

Cleo shook her head, Scott had spent hours planning what he'd do in this situation, "I can't tell you everything but trust me, if the Watchers wanted a dramatic final death then he'll give them one," they chuckled, watching Scott clutch her body in his arms.

"Scott? What are you doing?" Pearl took a step back, fearing the same deranged look in Scott's eyes that each player had seen in Pearl's eyes all season long.

"Tilly death do us part Pearlescent Moon."
