I wake up to the blinds half rolled down, but the sun is still peeking through. I look at the time and it's about seven in the morning. I'm surprised I'm the first one awake as I thought I would really be the last person to get up. I decide that there's no way I'm gonna be able to go back to sleep so I look for my bag to fish out my laptop.
I go through my phone and see messages from my parents that I never replied to due to the newfound time difference as well as sleep exhaustion once it was an appropriate time to even message them. I shoot them a quick update and notice all the email notifications. I need to go through my emails because I was basically offline for two days due to travel and then the chaos of yesterday so I know that I have some emails to reply to. Some brands that I'm working with sent inquiries about my arrival in my new country. Most of the brands I work with I let know that I would be off for half a week in advance in order for me to get settled with moving into my new place. I'm still reaching out to some, but I won't be back to making content until around next week.
Grabbing my laptop I tiptoe lightly into the loft space utilizing an empty cardboard Coupang box as a makeshift desk to work at. The light shines brightly through the windows in the loft area and I like that the railing is a glass partition so I can see below but also out to the windows ahead easily. I'll need to be careful about filming the view though since I really would rather be safe due to my online presence. The last thing I need is someone finding where I live easily because of the view. Though I'm debating it since there are so many apartment complexes in Seoul and I do have security.
After making a to-do list and doing some admin work, I look at the time and only 45 minutes have roughly gone by and I'm starting to get hungry. I'm sure the girls would like to get breakfast together so I should refrain, but also I reeeeallyyyy could use something to drink or snack on. I pull up NAVER maps and see what cafes are nearby that might be open. I find a lot, but the issue is that most of them open at 10 or 11. I need something nowwwww, ugh. It's not even eight yet, but there's got to be at least one place open.
I'm about to give up when I almost scroll past a place that catches my eye. It says it's called Secret Studio. There aren't many photos except of a matcha that looks to die for, a tiramisu, some pastries, a chocolate croissant, and is that an elephant ear?? I didn't know they had those here. The best part? It's claims to open at 8. Sounds like a winner.
I imediately close my laptop and quietly head downstairs to my closet. I decide on a white more fitted tee, some light denim jorts, my maple leafs navy cap, and my royal blue Adidas Campus 00s to add some colour.
I thread my hair through the opening in the back to do the claw clip hack to pin my hair up whilst wearing a cap. I finish with some squared off sunnies and my slouchy cream crossbody from yesterday (mainly because I don't feel like changing purses).
I head outside and look at my phone to see which direction I need to head. It's already cooler than yesterday, but what I'm wearing is perfect for the temperature because it's bound to get hot later. I'm sure the day will only get unbearably hot, so I need to remind myself to enjoy the end of the warm weather. I'm sure that I'll convince myself I miss it when I can't feel my fingertips. Neli basically said the winter is hell here, but she forgets that I love winter and snow. She says that I won't here, and I'm sure I won't like it at all times, but I love the snow so much. I look forward to freezing actually haha.
I keep looking at my GPS for the directions and just when I thought I walked past the cafe or missed it I see a little and I mean itty bitty sign that says "Secret Studio" burned into a little square wood sign no bigger than a foot squared. I'm honestly surprised I noticed it.
It has a little sign that says 4층, meaning I'm going to have to climb up to the fourth floor just to get to this cafe. Really didn't think I'd be exercising just to get a snack and matcha. The building is tall and narrow and honestly a little unsuspecting because there's nothing that screams "THIS IS A CAFE, COME VISIT" if anything it's giving, "Please don't come here, I beg you. We're not even here actually."
