"Oh, Ms. Port! Please, come in!" Professor Styles exclaimed, putting down his mug of coffee, as he looked up at me walking into his office, like he had told me to do. I walked in, hesitantly, and forced a smile.

"Um, hey." I replied.

He moved his blazer from the chair in front of his desk, and hung it on a hook in the corner of his office. "Please, take a seat."

"Look, Mr.Styles, I wasn't talking, Abbie was and I really don't want-" he looked at me confused, as he took off his glasses, and set them down lightly on his desk.

"Skylar. Please. I didn't bring you here to scold you for talking during my lesson. Hell, even I wanna chat with my buddies during those lectures. I asked you to come to my office after class, because I had one little thing that I wanted to talk to you about."

My heart nearly jumped out of my chest. Maybe Abbie was right, maybe my constant gawking at him was apparent. Maybe everyone knew I was crushing on Mr. Styles. Sweat beads formed on my forehead, and my throat got dry.

"Um, y-yes?"

"Skylar, me and you both know we are two very good looking people, I won't even lie about that."

Was there air in this office? Maybe I could make a run for it.

"We're both smart, kind, like to have fun on the weekends."

What was he going at?! Yes, I liked him, why'd he have to make it so uncomfortable?

"Yeah?"

"Ah, I'm going off track here. What I wanted to say was..... You're one of the most intelligent students I've ever seen!" he smiled wide, and pounded his hands on his desk. "I mean, a 4.0, only during your freshman year of college? For an 18 year old girl, that's mad impressive!" his excitement was dramatic.

I sighed a sigh of relief, and put my hand to my chest. and hoped maybe it would calm the beating of my heart.

"O-oh, um, wow. Um, thanks, Professor. I-I study hard, is all. Gotta get my degree, y'know!" I said, feeling a bit more at ease. He stopped smiling, and stared at me, seriously, without blinking.

"Yes, of course." he said.

"Well, uh, I-I really have to go now, but uh-"

"Of course, go, go! I understand." he said, smiling again, leaning back in his chair. He flipped his head, so that his curls bounced up and shifted to the side.

"See ya in class tomorrow, Skylar." he said.

I nodded, and pivoted around, reaching for the door handle, to leave.

"Oh, and Ms. Port?" I heard his voice again. I turned my head towards him.

"Yes?"

"I know you like me. But I mean, who wouldn't." he smirked at me, and motioned his head towards the door. "Good evening, Ms. Port."
