THE CHURCH WAS LIT by candlelight once the sunset. Cal and Bianca sat on the floor alongside Glenn and Maggie. The group had broken out the canned food, and Gabriel even granted them paper plates to eat off of. Cal felt like it made them feel a little more civilized than scooping it out of a can. Bianca's head rested on his shoulder while his arm wrapped around her. His food sat on his lap as he ate between their conversation and laughter.
