"I swear to god Alterzien if you don't shut up and let me do this I will murder you my self" I hissed as I looked at the giant ice worm before us. The damn thing had already eaten 5 people and ruinined so much housing and now here I was in the mid summers cold with my troupe. And Alterzien.
"Alright alright but if you get killed I am so not telling Lauyfey that it was my idea." I shrugged. I knew I could do this. Alterzien was just being a worrywart. Besides. If I could manage to kill the ice worm... Then I knew I would be able to prove father I was a worthy warrior.
Nodding to Alter, I waited for him to give the signal before I started my descent to where the worm lay. The beast was asleep which was rather hard since the only way to kill these things was to stab them straight in the head. But.. Now .. The problem was which side was the head?
Sighing I lightly prodded the worm with the spike at the end of my wing. Watching from both sides I saw the giant blue thing wiggle a little while making a rather loud grunting noise but not making any actual move to get up. So left. Left was where the head was.
I began my trek down when I remembered. I have wings. Spreading them out I quickly took to the skies before carefully landing on the worms back about 10 meters away now from its head. Taking a couple of slow steps forward I began to smirk. This was easy. Too easy.
Once I came to its head I grabbed my double swords and raised them high before plunging them down. I did it! I killed the w-
I paused my momentary celebration as I began to notice my mistake. This wasn't the head. This wasn't the head at all.
This was the tail.
Slowly turning around I could now see the worms angry face staring straight at me from about 20 meters away. "Oh shit." I quietly whispered before turning around and pulling my blades out while the worm came angrily slidering its way towards me.
Wide eyed now I quickly toke the skies while the rest of the patrolled began to shoot there ice arrows. The now enraged blue worm managed to stand now letting out an angry roar. Well.. I wasn't exactly expecting this.
Scrunching my face up I tried to think of a plan. Plan.. Plan.. OH!PLAN!
Smirking I started to fly away. Once I was a good bit away I started to fly back but at a lot faster speed. Aiming my self straight at the worm I shifted my 2 swords to the side.

SLICE.
I did my best to try and slow down so I would crash into the ice and managed to turn around one last time to see the worms whole head slide off its body and land with a loud thud to the floor while its body landed with an even louder thud. Now! I had done it.
"That was amazing Ælfsige!" Alterzien cheered as I returned to the ground. "Yes quiet the good job my prince." A couple of others agreed making me practically ooze with pride.

Marching my way into the throne room I quickly toke a bow to my father and king of jotunhiem. "My son. Have you killed the worm?" He asked contently while I smiled wide. "Yes father the worm is dead. No more villages can be harmed now." I said while he gave me a small smile.
I knew Lauyfey wasn't my real father. I mean really. I knew from day one. But unlike the asgardian Loki, I was told who and I was from day 1.
I was, Ælfsige of Lalin. My home planet was destroyed many many years ago but now, I considered Jötunhiem my home. And no. I was not Jotunn. I was Yêu Quái. Even if I was not a Jotunn I didn't feel left out or lost here. I was respected and accepted. After all. I was the last of my kind.
When my pod had landed years ago Lauyfey had been happy to take me in. He knew what I was. What I could do. And he raised me as his own. But even so, i knew I would never be able to rule over Jotunhiem. As much as I loved the realm it simply couldn't be.
But this also never bothered me. Being king sounded fun. But even if I would have the throne of jotunhiem, I wouldn't take it. Yes this was the planet that raised me. But it was not my home planet. Lalin was. And Lalin was no more. So I guess I was doomed to be a prince forever.
"Tonight! We will throw a feast in the Prince's honour!" Lauyfey declared making a wide smile spread across my face as cheers from my patrol could be heard from behind me.
Tonight would be fun.
