Third Person's POV:
The next day, Jessica woke up in a sort of daze. She stared up at the ceiling inside of her dorm room and wondered to herself. So many things had been going right for her lately. They always have sort of but now that Kashima was here at Jester High, she felt like she was glowing all the time. She felt like she could run 10 marathons in the span of 5 minutes after looking at his figure once. Oh, and when he played basketball. She could have energy after that scene for the rest of her life.
She sat up with a smile on her face. She glanced at her dresser and saw a note on her dresser. She had sat it there the night before because it was a congratulatory gift from Kashima. She wanted anything from Kashima as close as it could possibly be. She liked him that much. Puppy love to say the least. She picked up the note and remembered that it just noted everywhere he would be for the day. It specifically said that he wasn't coming to the dorms until he was forced to by staff. Until then, he would be in the courtyard. The note specifically asked her to join him.
Her breath revealed accidental laughter and she covered her mouth and then laughed louder. She glanced at the clock next to her and frowned. Less than an hour to get ready. She quickly hopped out of bed, took a shower, and ran out of the dorm building in her famous red and black tracksuit.
Jessica made it to class not even 10 minutes after she closed her dorm door. She smiled to herself. Everyone in the halls already knew who she was thinking of. Kashima Yuu. That boy had enchanted her mind and even though girls and boys alike were jealous of their attraction to each other, they supported their cluelessness to each other's feelings because it was cute. Everyone waited and waited anxiously for one to confess to the other. Jessica made her way to her classroom. She took her seat and everyone was trying their best not to stare at her smile.
She put her chin in her right-hand palm and stared out the window to her left. Even the teacher was in shock to see that Jessica was so distracted from her studies. Regardless he started the lesson and ended it just as quickly. The next few classes were a blur for Jessica too as she waited for each class to pass, waiting for when she would be able to meet Kashima in the courtyard.
Her wishes came true, making her seven-hour day, from getting out of bed this morning all the way to writing absent-minded math notes in her journal in the last ten minutes of class, seem like a few seconds. She packed her bag slowly trying to show everyone that she was in no rush, even though she herself knew that she wanted to rush down the halls to the courtyard. She put the strap on shoulder and walked out of the classroom. She walked down the stairs making a right turn out the doors to the fields and a little in front of the fields was the tall fence around the courtyard.
She stepped in and practically threw her bag to the ground. Kashima turned around and instantly smiled while Jessica noticed a few beads of sweat fall from the top of his lip.
"You made it," he exclaimed, walking closer to Jessica.
"You know I would," Jessica retorted. She smiled and smacked the ball from Kashima's hand. She turned around with a flirtatious smirk. "Are you really that good at basketball?"
Kashima scoffed grabbing his nape. "You wanna see?"
"I would love to," she responded.
The two started their match and as soon as, their classmates started to crowd around the courtyard fence. None of them were bold enough to step inside since the two were playing and moving around the court so aggressively. Jessica stole the ball from Kashima and turned around this way and that. Kashima flung his massive figure around in an attempt to block all of Jessica's shots. All of their peers were honestly scared they would get caught in some crossfire but it was the complete opposite for the players.
They loved that they were able to keep up with each other. They were smiling the whole entire time unbeknownst to their peers. Eventually, Jessica was able to steal the ball from Kashima one more time and she had her eyes on the goal. She ran to his side of the court and jumped to the goal. She dunked successfully leaving Kashima halfway across the court but the problem was that she was just hanging there. Kashima ran over and stood under her. Some of the students gasped as the scene unfolded. Everyone knew that Jessica wasn't going to get hurt, especially if Kashiam was there but something about her just hanging there scared them.
She let go and Kashima caught her also falling to the ground himself because of the sudden impact. They locked eyes with Jessica on his chest and everyone stared holding their breaths. They laughed.
"I think that's my win," Jessica whispered, heavingly slightly.
"Not if you're the one out of breath," he smirked. He helped her up and she smiled feebly at him.
"My main sport is running. Running, twisting, and jumping at the same time is kind of new to me."
"Can I have something as a reward since it is my win?" Kashima asked now also becoming a little shy.
Jessica tilted her head. And the crowds of students increased and almost could not hold their breaths anymore.
"I want to be your boyfriend," He said rubbing the back of his neck and looking between her and the ground every so often.
Her eyes widened and the people on the outside all hung their mouths wide open. She nodded very slowly. Kashima couldn't believe that she had agreed to it. The crowd that the two students hadn't even noticed till now erupted into cheer. Jessica and Kashima gasped. They were about to kiss to unite their newfound love in each other but that could wait until they were in private. Until then, they were going to shine together as Jester High's power-couple.
