Chapter 17

Naomi's point of view.

"Let me get this straight, I have a neurochip in my brain", I tried to process everything I just heard. Everything went over my head. This is like something straight out of a science fiction novel. "Yes, pretty much", the guy with a blonde curtain haircut, he isn't even taller than Ricardo or Jeremy.. He reaches Ricardo's shoulder. He is insanely attractive, one thing I have noticed about these Androids is that they are insanely attractive. Ricardo is the one that stands out for me. There is just something alluring about him that no matter how he drives me nuts with his rude and cold behaviour, I can't help but admit that he has the appearance of a supermodel. Hearing that he brought me here when I fainted paints a different picture about what he really thinks about me. We must give Gaston credit, he is good.

The boy had siren shaped eyes and an ocean blue coloured eyes, he isn't as endowed in muscles like Ricardo appears to be but he isn't soft. I learnt his name is Cody and he is actually a student here but he has connection with the Androids at the lab. He gets information on what's going on in the lab.

All this was too much for my human brain to take. This all seems too imaginary and too fictional to be real. "Did you not see the light show you and Ricardo just pulled off", Cody pointed out.

That was creepy too, not going to lie. "Do you people think I am stupid?"I lash out on them. Ricardo seemed unamused by all this. "Girl, you have a chip in your brain. Get that through your scalp", he unleashed his usual rude self on me. I rolled my eyes and focused my attention on the two boys who are willing to be nice to me. "I have never met Gaston before. How could he have put the neuro whatever in my brain,come on now", I tried to make my point.

"Ricardo do you remember when Gaston told us about the neurochip? Did you have any procedures done on your head or something?" Jeremy held my hand, he used his thumb to soothe the back of my hand. "Why are you asking me this? This is too creepy", I pulled my hand free from his grip and picked up my bag to exit the laboratory. Apparently Ricardo brought me here when I fainted. I remember the searing pain that blasted through my head that I had to scream until I blacked out. That happened when my phone alerted me that Gaston knows I hacked him.

Ricardo got a grip of my hand. "You can't go anywhere until you understand the danger you are in", he seemed serious, no element of humour in him. He dropped my hand aggressively. "Well you didn't have to hold my arm with a crushing grip on my wrist".

I massaged the place he held in an attempt to relieve the pain. "You must understand that you are dealing with a very heartless man, you need be aware of it", Cody tried to reason with me. I raised my hand in surrender,"Fine you win, I will stay and listen to your story", I dropped my bag. "What says the time anyway?"

"Its almost 6:00", Jeremy answered. Surprise held me speechless. "Six? Already?"
Jeremy nodded. I can't stay here longer, by now my parents would be worried and Benji would have gone home thinking I had gone home. "Well, I can't stay longer. My parents would be worried. We close at four, why am I not home all the way to six".

"Can't you lie to them?" Cody suggested. I smiled sardonically,"You guys don't have parents so you don't understand. You are machine. I can't lie to them". Cody snickered,"You are telling me you never lied to your mom".

I shook my head in response and rolled my eyes. I wasn't the type to lie to my parents and that's why they trust me so much. They also know I am not the type that socializes so staying in school to socialize would be a bad lie. I just want to maintain a relationship of trust between my parents and I. I don't intend to lie to them just to hear a fictional story. I hung the bag at my back and opened the door,"I would love to stay here and chat about your Android stuff but I have to get home".
