"It's not too late, you know," Terry began, we were about ten minutes away from the dojo, "You don't have to come back so soon. Hell, you just got... Well... You know. Your uncle is home again, no one would blame you if you took more time."
I looked at him and smirked, "I think you just like having me run into your arms when you get home from work... I can start taking the bus, I feel awful that you're always giving me a ride everywhere. Besides, I have a lot of work to catch up on."
"No," he said sternly, "You're not taking the bus ever again. I've told you numerous times, and I'll tell you again, I don't mind taking you places. It's my pleasure."
We pulled up along the dojo, Terry and I walked in, he liked getting to the dojo before Sensei Da Eun or any others arrived. Terry walked me into his office, it smelled and looked like a floral shop.
I gasped and brought my hands up to my mouth, there were flowers in gorgeous vases surrounding my desk and the windowsill. Terry placed his hand at the small of my back as we walked in, "Um, Sensei Da Eun, Sensei Yong Woo and the others wanted to do something nice for you, they knew you were coming back today."
Each international sensei had beautiful words written for me in the many cards they left. "Oh," I breathed, reading the last card, "That's so sweet... They hardly know me, and they did all of this for me..."
Terry stood back, his hands shoved in his pockets, "They know how much you cared about your uncle, you're also part of Cobra Kai. We take care of each other here," he wandered up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me to him, "Just as I intend on taking care of you."
I was about to be a mess of emotions all over again, but instead, I was filled with warmth. Terry helped me arrange the ornate vases so I could access my computer.
Instead of the individual sensei's going to their respective dojos, each one stopped by to give me their condolences, I was overwhelmed with their show of compassion. Sensei Da Eun in particular was most surprising when she arrived, "I am sorry to hear of your uncle's passing, Miss Graeves. If there is anything that I can do, please, let me know. I am happy to see you back," the small smile that tugged at the corers of her lips. I had never seen her crack a smile for anything.
As the day went on, I had finally caught up on everything. The last class was about halfway through their training for the day. I quietly wandered down the stairs, I wanted a strawberry smoothie.
Kyler, one of the more... boisterous students, noticed me creeping around the corner, "Miss Ella!" He hollered, his outburst caused everyone to stop their formation of whatever it was Terry and Sensei Da Eun had them doing, Sensei Da Eun let out a frustrated sigh, "Class, there are to be no disruptions. Miss Graeves is back, yes. I instruct you all to leave her be for now, focus! Back to your lines," she commanded. I mouthed 'thank you,' to her, to which she nodded.
I got my smoothie and rushed back up to my office. I sat back and breathed a deep sigh. A light knock came at my door, before I could respond the door opened, it was Terry. I smiled when he came in, he walked over slowly and sat on my desk top near me. I curled my arms around one of his strong legs and laid my head on him.
He chuckled softly, running his fingers through my hair, "They missed you, sweetheart."
"It certainly seems that way, huh," I buried my face in his strong leg, "I missed them," I mumbled.
I stood, playing with Terry's belt he simply smiled down at me, I looked up to him, "Isn't class missing you now?"
He shrugged, "Sensei Kim Da Eun has it covered. I wanted to come up and see my girl, I wanted to melt into her wonderful hazel eyes, see her smile and spend a little time with her." His fingertips brushed against my cheeks, I tugged at his belt before I reached up to his face. He kissed me softly.
