Ghost woke up slowly, blinking the tiredness away and looked down at Evie. He smiled softly under his mask, seeing her so at peace and serene. She somehow kept herself wrapped around him through the night. There was a soft knock on the door, pulling him from his beautiful sight. He looked up, seeing the nurse walk in timidly. "Sorry sir, we have to check her bandages." she said with a shaky voice. "No problem," he said nonchalantly. Ghost gently shook her to wake her, "Evie," he whispered, "the nurse is here." Evie stirred a bit before forcing her eyes open. She looked around tiredly before looking up at Ghost, "h-" she tried to speak, forgetting she couldn't. The nurse hushed her, "don't try to speak, Ms. Evie." she said softly as she placed a hand on her arm. Evie sat up slowly, avoiding straining herself as she winced. "Careful, dove." Ghost said as he assisted her. He stood up to get out of the way of the nurse. He watched intently as the nurse checked her over. "The bandages are rippled, and there's a bit of blood seeping through. The way you slept may have caused stitches to come loose. I'm gonna give you something for pain then take the bandages off to make sure." she smiled softly as she turned around. Evie nodded, reaching for her throat carefully, brushing her fingers over the bandages.

After giving her something for the pain, the nurse carefully removed the bandages with gauze in hand just in case. Evie winced and pulled away slightly as the bandage pulled her skin, "Sorry, ma'am." The nurse apologized. Evie shook her head and smiled in assurance. After removing the bandages, the nurse inspected the wound and sighed, "A stitch has come loose, let me get Horangi." she said quickly, "Hold this right here." she said as she held gauze over Evie's throat. Evie gently pressed against her neck, looking at Ghost with worried eyes. "It's alright, it's not as bad as you're probably thinking." he assured gently.

Horangi came in, putting gloves on his hands with the nurse following with a tray of supplies to fix Evie's neck. "Mornin' Evie." he said as he approached her. Evie smiled subtly, still holding her throat. "I hear you've busted through a stitch," he said lightly, "let's take care of that." Evie smiled as she lowered her hand. Ghost stood to the side with his arms crossed, his demeanor intimidating. "Ghost I can't do this while it looks like you're going to kill me." Horangi joked as he prepared the supplies. "You're the last person I'd kill right now, Horangi." Ghost said with a slight playfulness in his tone. Horangi laughed under his mask as he worked on Evie. "I'm not sure if I should be flattered or worried for my crew." Evie smiled as she looked at Ghost. "Almost done," Horangi said assuringly. After a moment, he began to put bandages over her wound gently. "All done," Horangi said as he stood and took his gloves off, "Careful sleeping. Try to sleep where it won't affect the bandages so much. I know they're uncomfortable. We also have to get a feeding tube set up." he said as Evie nodded. "Feeding tube?" Ghost asked. "Yeah, she can't swallow whole foods." Horangi responded as he tossed his gloves in the trash. "I'll be back in a while to do it." Horangi and the nurse left the room, and Ghost stood at the end of the bed. "Do you need anything?" he asked gently. Evie shook her head slowly, minding the bandages. "I'm going to see Konig, make sure he doesn't need me." Iris nodded and reached for the pen and pad on the side table.

Will you be back before they do the feeding tube?

Ghost glanced at the paper, reading it quickly. "I'll try to be, yes." He assured as he walked next to her. He lifted his mask over his lips and kissed her forehead gently. "I'll be back, dove."

After Ghost left, he called Konig.

"Ja?" Konig answered.

"Where are you?" Ghost asked as he walked to the elevator.

"Warehouse. It's a fucking mess down here." Konig said with a huffed tone.

"I'm on my way there." Ghost said before hanging up.
