It's been a few days since my little street incident and my wrist was feeling much better. I hadn't seen Aleks, but I also wasn't scared of going outside any longer. I sure as hell wasn't going to let some asshole on the street take that away.

Also, something in me felt that Aleks was watching out for me, and I wasn't sure if that was creepy or comforting yet.

It hadn't stormed since the other day, and I perked up when I heard thunder begin to roll in the distance. I immediately grabbed my jacket and ran out the door. By the time I got to the street, the rain was coming down in sheets. I loved it.

I walked for around ten minutes, past Aleks' empty spot on the wall, past the alley.

"Hey! What are you doing?" Someone holding an umbrella across the street said. He jogged over to my side, holding the umbrella over me.

"It's pouring rain and its like 40 degrees! What're you doing?"

"I go out in the rain whenever I can," I answered, smiling and remembering Aleks.

"Ha, well that's a new one. I'm Jordan," he said, holding out his hand.

I shook it. "Maya."

His red hat had gotten a shade darker from being unsheilded by the umbrella.

"Yanno, I'm used to the rain. I don't need the umbrella." I said, curtly smiling and pushing it back over him.

"I'm good." He pushed it back, persistent little shit.

We walked in silence for a bit before passing a local coffee shop.

"Uh, hey. Would you mind letting me buy you some coffee? You've gotta be freezing," he asked, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. I shrugged, turning back to the coffee shop. I had nothing better to do and he didn't seem like the kind of guy to stomp on my wrist.

Jordan grinned, pulling the door open. Before I walked through, a firm hand slapped onto his shoulder.

"What do you think you're doing, bud?" the owner of the hand said, pulling back his hood.

"Holding a door, what are you do-"

"Aleks?! What are you doing?"

"Yeah, what she said." Jordan agreed, obviously bewildered.

"What am I doing? What are you doing? Haven't you learned your lesson about being out in the fucking downpour?"

"I think I'm perfectly capable of being outside without you following me and harassing people who are trying to help!" I stormed off, heading home. Aleks followed.

"You have no idea who he was!"

I whirled around, poking a finger into his chest. "I had no idea who you were when you punched that guy in the face and took me to your house, Mr. I-saved-you-to-crush-you-myself!" I spun back around, stomping away again. He grabbed my arm, pulling me back to face him and holding me in place.

"I think we made it pretty clear I wouldnt hurt you," he said, chuckling.

"You think you can just hop into my life with your- your- hot tattoos? And just be the knight in shining armor?"

He rose an eyebrow and smirked. "You think my tattoos are hot?"

"I didn't say that."

"You did," he said, bursting into laughter.

"No I-" I stopped to think and then flushed pink. "Oh my god."

"It's okay." There was still a glint of laughter in his eyes as he bit his lip and traced a finger down my jawline. "You're hot too."
