"You were jealous."

"No, I definitely wasn't."

"Oh, so you were protecting me from the big bad man holding the door open for me?"

"Exactly."

I cracked up and took another sip of my coffee. Earlier I made Aleks go back to apologize, but Jordan was nowhere in sight. Aleks had convinced me to come to his apartment for coffee instead of going in the shop, he evidently didn't like public situations.

"You must've scared the shit out of him! He was so sweet!"

"Sweet isn't your type anyway."

"How would you know my type?" I said, still smiling.

"You obviously need a protector, you're like a defenseless little puppy dog," he said tauntingly, purposefully using that word to push my buttons.

"Oh, I could take you on."

"Oh?"

"Yes, as a matter of fact I cou-"

I didn't get a chance to finish my sentence because Aleks fucking jumped across the table and tackled me to the ground. He had me pinned down.

"You could take me, huh?" he said, smirking and starting to get off of me. While his guard was still down, I flipped him over and pinned him to the ground.

"Oh yeah."

"You fucked up." He started to get that mischievous look in those dark brown eyes, so I took that as my cue to haul ass. I got up and ran down the nearest hallway, with Aleks quickly following. The hallway led back around to the other side of the living room, where Aleks was waiting, arms crossed.

"Fuck," I said, running back down the hall and into the nearest room. It looked to be a game room, with various TV monitors connected to gaming consoles. Aleks was soon to follow, bursting into the room and grabbing my waist.

"Who knew you were such a nerd, Mr. Mysterious Bad Boy?" I said, twisting away and looking around the room.

"It's a hobby," he replied, tripping over a controller and falling face first in to the couch.

He tried to play it off, sliding the rest of the way onto the couch, but I was already doubled over laughing.

"A nerd and clumsy, huh? This whole bad boy thing is slipping away from you, Aleks." I said, still laughing.

"Yeah well, I could beat you at any one of these games. Try me."

"That wouldn't be fair, I don't know how to play videogames."

"I'll show you, pick a game."

I eyed the large rack of games and pulled out Left 4 Dead. "Sounds promising," I said, throwing the box to him.

In a few minutes he had it set up and handed me a controller.

"Okay, press A."

"Which one is that?"

"Fuck."
