They've been gone for seven hours. Seven crazy, hectic long hours, people don't know what to do, time's running out. The time keeper has gone missing and no one knows where he went. Her majesty sent out guards immediately when she found out, but she needed someone more experienced, more like someones. Liz and Ash, twins who are amazingly skilled and trained for missions."Liz and ash, you might be wondering why I have summoned you, as you know, the time keeper has been gone for over seven hours. He is irreplaceable and is needed for our survival." The queen deadpanned.
"We will find and take the time keeper home, safe and sound," Liz held a determined face. The duo shared a look and glanced at the queen one last time before leaving the castle grounds.
Liz and Ash passed through the village that the queen ruled over. On their way to the forest they saw Buddy, a lovable dog, and took him with them. It was golden hour, the sun rays were going through the leaves of trees, making the air around them look golden. It looked majestic, they could see a deer south of them, drinking from a pond, the deer jumping back when it saw the reflection of birds flying over. Water striders were swimming about, minding their own business. In the North, there's mountains, the tips of them hidden above the foggy, warm-colored clouds. Those mountains are home to a land filled with dragons. They aren't very friendly so it would be unlikely for the time keeper to go there. Liz, Ash and Buddy were heading west, they knew of a village called "Lockwood", filled with mushroom-like people.
On their arrival to Lockwood, a mushroom man greeted them. "Hi Ash, sticking around? I have to show you something fun!" Ash and the mushroom man shared a hand shake, "I haven't seen you in forever, Fun Guy! How've you been? I've been meaning to show you this new invention I'm working on." Liz gave Ash a look saying 'really?' "But, I'll have to show you some other time we've got a bit of a problem, we're on a mission." Fun Guy looked at Ash, then Liz, and then finally looked down at Buddy. "Yeah, I can tell, Buddy's in all serious mode and hasn't jumped or slobber all over me yet." Buddy gave a small lick to his palm just to prove him wrong.
"Great talk, Fun Guy, but the time keeper has gone missing and we really need to go find him. Any idea where he's gone?" Liz asked with her arms crossed, she never thought Fun Guy as amusing or great company.
"Who? Missing? The time keeper?" Fun guy furrowed his brow at this. "Yes... you know the guy who keeps the time," Liz slowly said as if she was talking to a child, thinking 'who doesn't know the time keeper?'
"I know who the guy is, but he isn't missing. Last I saw him he was down at the pub. You know.. uh.. Mildred's Pub," Fun Guy clicked his tongue and nodded, confirming to himself. Liz and Ash shared another look, both saying 'are you serious.'
"Thanks Fun Guy, see you later," Ash rushed and grabbed Liz by her arm, dragging her to Mildred's Pub. Buddy making everything a competition, was already there the second Fun Guy mentioned Mildred's Pub.
Upon entering the Pub, they immediately spotted the time keeper, partly because he was a foreigner among the others, and also because he was slumped over the counter. Buddy did an "intimidating" walk to him and tugged on his wizard-like robe.
"Go away," the time keeper mumbled and shoed Buddy away. Liz and Ash walked up to him and shared another look after seeing the state he was in. It was clear the time keeper's been drinking a bit too much by his red eyes.
"Why'd you leave? Are you okay" Do you know how much trouble you'll be in if the queen finds out you're in a pub?" Liz rambled on with a fuming face. The time keeper sat up, "lay off, even I need a break every now and then. Do you know how exhausting it is to be a timekeeper?"
"Breaks over, c'mon now the kingdom needs you. The clock is disappearing by the minute!" Ash hauled up the Time Keeper motioning for Liz to help. They both had him slumped over their shoulders, Buddy was leading the way."Wait for my drink! A new one is coming along in just a moment. I've already paid for it!" The Timekeeper remarked, trying to turn around and go back to the counter.
"A couple dollars is nothing to you Timekeeper. We really must hurry unless a drink is more valuable to you than time itself!" Liz was already done dealing with a drunk Timekeeper. The Timekeeper slowly turned back around and mumbled incoherent words.
The trio and the Timekeeper hastily made their way out of Lockwood and into the forest. Their voyage to the Time Tower, which was right next to the castle, was much faster than their voyage to Lockwood.
As they were climbing the steps to the tippy top of the tower the Timekeeper sobered up. He thought it was very funny, "I can't wait to have another break again! Maybe next week at the same time?" The twins gave one last wide-eyed look at each other.
