Chapter 3~ shits and giggles

"Oh I knew you couldn't resist me." His rich voice answered back.

"Don't be so full of yourself." I put a smirk on my own face. I walked up to the front door just as Natalie's beat up red car pulled up. "I was just curious, that's it."

My best friends face light up. She practically threw herself out of the car to hear some news.

"Is that him?! Is it?" Natalie asked breathlessly but eagerly.

I couldn't help but laugh and waited for her to unlock the door.

"Was that Natalie?"

"Ha yea it was sorry." I giggled back. "So tell me about the wedding."

"Have about you tell me if you agree to go." Mitch threw back slyly.

"I'll think about it." I walked up to Natalie's room and put the phone on speaker so I could change. One over sized shirt will do, thanks to Nat's older brother.

"Well my cousin is getting married and you have to bring a date soooo." He trailed off leaving me to think. Natalie started whispering to me in excited voices .

"Just do it for the shits and giggles." "No harm done."

"But I don't know! Is it a date or just friends hanging out ?" I asked my close friend. She gave me a trademark shrug and asked "pleeeeease?" God she is such a little kid sometimes! But that's why I love her to death.

"You still there? Cause that would be pretty awkward talking to myself." I reached for the phone and took it off of the speaker. "Yea I think that would be fun. I'm in" I felt my face grow hot. It's was on fire!

"Okay I'll pick you up tomorrow at 3."

"See you then I guess." I bit my lip struggling not to squeal. "Bye."

"Goodnight Auden, have sweet dreams." He said before he hung up. Oh that made my heart flutter extra beats. Natalie and I stayed up a few minutes longer. A wave of sleepyness hit me yet on. The sleepiness burning into my eyes. I spilled the beans and told her the plans. Of course she was thrilled! I even had a dress that Natalie is letting me borrow. White Cotton with a caramel colored leather belt. This dress matches perfectly with the shoes I wore today. Multi colored wedges. With one last yawn Natalie slumped onto her bed and slipped under the covers. I sat out on the window sill looking at the clear night sky, stars twinkling. I let the images of my night replay in my head. Focusing mostly on Mitch. He was such a true gentleman. I fell asleep to the rhythm of the fan, and Natalie's soft breathing in the background.

{morning}

The warm summer sun woke me up. The streaks of light seeping through the blinds. Where am I? It took me a few seconds to focus. Okay I'm in Natalie's room. Her walls were a light peach and decorated with many drawings and posters. I sighed and shook the sleepiness off. Piling my messy golden hair up, I pushed myself out of bed. *sniiif* Natalie's mom must be cooking up a storm! I smell French toast and bacon. Mmm my favorite. My best friend isn't in her room, so she must be in the shower. Yup I hear the water thumping through the walls. Thumping..thumping like the base last night. Oh god it's all coming back to me. Scott and I broke up! I stopped dead in my tracks. My heart dipped low in my stomach. "Oh why." I sighed. Just at that moment Natalie walked through her door way, toweling off her dark brown hair. "Hey girl what's up?" But within a second she say the hurt look in my eyes and knew instantly. "Aud don't worry about it. He's a total jerk." Natalie said as she swept me up into a hug. I couldn't cry over him anymore. I wanted to, but I physically couldn't. It's like I was out of tears or something. "Lets go downstairs and get some brunch." She pulled me along.

"Brunch? What time is it exactly?"

"It's 12:45. You slept in a long time haha." She said with a smile .

We both trudged down the stairs and walked to the kitchen. I was right, there was bacon and French toast.

"Oh honey I'm so sorry!" Mrs. Clark said. I send daggers at Nat and she looked down to the floor instantly. "Sorry Auden I had to tell her why we were late and stuff." She said apologetically.

"Okay I guess. But come on Nat why do you have to tell everyone?!" I softened my look. She eyes then looked up to her mom.

"Okay girls how about some food?" Mrs. Clark postponed the argument. "Audy I made your favorite." She gave me a warm smile and served us both up. "So tell me about this boy. Well man I guess." Mrs. Clark wiggled her eyebrows and made me laugh. Natalie shoveled food into her cave of a mouth. You'd think she hasn't eaten in days! Well we are teenagers, what can you do. I looked over at Natalie and she looked up at me, mouth full of food. I shook my head at her and smiled. "Well there's not much to tell." I answered. "I just met him." But that wasn't good enough for Mrs. Clark. She inched up in he seat and placed her head on her hands. "Sooo?" She pressed on. I sighed and began my short story of last night .....
