Early in the morning, In a classroom filled to the brim with students teeming with youth. A lone teacher can be seen, her back, reminisce of a veteran soldier who survived the cold war was slightly slouching as she took a good look at her new students.
-She wasn't impressed.
A bit harsh? Sure, but remembering the middle school report she read on these students. She couldn't help but think she's got a basket filled with bad apples on her hands.
Looks like this year is a bust too.
While longing for the comforting scent of tabaco, the more-then-tired teacher indifferently called out the names for attendance.
"Ike Kanji"
"Here!" A boy answered behind his gaming console. "Dammit, I lost!"
"Karuizawa Kei"
"Here, Sae-Chan" A girl responded while typing in her phone, her blond locks was tied in a high ponytail that shook as she giggled at one of her messages.
"Ken Sudo"
"Here..." A red haired boy grunted with his feet placed on his desk. His dirty soles left a stain on the pure wood.
Ignoring the obvious breach of school protocols, The teacher-Chabashira Sae, calls out the next name.
And with every name she called, a casual, borderline disrespectful reply came back to her.
Any other teacher, at any other school. Would have been offended, furious even at the lacks attitudes of these student's.
but her? She knew the worst has yet to come.
... Should I just give up? The thought was shot down as quick as it came
Chabashira shook her head, she's come too far, sacrificed too much. It's too late to turn back.
She already lost hope for this year's Class-D, so she'll just try again next year, with a different bach of Class-D students in hopes of finding a diamond in the ruff.
Having made her conviction. Chabashira sped up the roll call, flipping, calling, and checking the pages automatically like a machine.
Her subconscious actions were broken by the next name that caught her attention.
-Horikita Suzune.
The little sister of the student council president and a top scorer among the freshman.
... Maybe, if it's her....
For a moment, the dying flames of her heart were set ablaze. Fuelled by anticipation long forgotten.
A dangerous, treacherous feeling called Hope started to bud.
.... Until it didn't.
The burning flames of her heart died, simmering into a flickering ember that could be mistaken as coal.
... If someone like her was placed in Class-D despite her outstanding stats, it could only mean her defect was just that bad.
How disappointing.
"Horikita Suzune"
"... Here" From the back row of the class, despite being surrounded by dozens of people, in her world, she, and only she, stood alone. With Raven black hair reaching her waist, along with pale white skin that matches her red eyes that threatens to smother everything with it's intensity. A girl of ripped age sat still, her prestine face was cold and unmoving akin to a porcelain doll.
