Awkward.

Pure awkwardness was in the air right now.

And the worst part?

I couldn't do anything to solve this atmosphere.

It's been an hour, and all we've been doing was silently eat dinner.

It was after I called her mom that this atmosphere was formed.

Now that I think about it... no one would like a total stranger to call them mom in the first place!? Ah, I messed up didn't I?

Ah, no good no good.

Let's just focus on this steak, this nice wagyu steak. I've been having Japanese food for the last couple of days so this steak is a real game changer.

Slicing the meat into bite size pieces, I ate one of them eagerly. A explosion of flavor erupted in my mouth. I excitedly ate another piece, and another, and another, and another. Before I knew it my steak has completely disappeared.

I briefly felt a tinge of disappointment

"Do you want another serving?"

I jolted, the voice was stern and feminine. The origin of the voice was none other then my mother.

Looking up, straight into Desiree's eyes, I could see the seriousness oozing out of it. Her gaze reminded me of my school principal back at my world, Mrs Bethany. It was not a gaze I particularly liked. I Remembered being called to the principal's office, somebody had caught me smoking and had reported it to the teacher which had eventually reached the principal. I could still remember the sharp look she gave me, I felt like I was gonna start sh#tting bricks right then and there, fortunately there was no concrete evidence so I was let off with a warning.

Now face to face with someone who reminds me of my principal, I can proudly say I'm about to sh#t myself right now.

"Yes please!" I answered.

With my years of experience, I found out that people like this get more irritated the longer you don't answer their questions, plus I really want that next serving

Desire nodded at my answer, she raised her left hand and-

Snap-!

-Snapped her fingers, the moment she did a legion of waiters started rushing in.

The waiters all rushed in a organized formation, they took all the dishes on the table, replacing them with new ones. They poured the half empty glasses and even went as far as doing a quick sweep while trimming the plants around the rooftop.

Another serving of steak along with baked lobster was presented before me.

Wasn't the preportions bigger this time?

Meh, more food for me then.

While enjoying the delicious lobster, I couldn't help but think that all the troubles getting here was worth it.

Thinking about it now, I was pretty stupid huh? I know it's not a surprise but I err.... Got lost on the way here....

Honestly, you can't fault me right? I was traveling on unknown land while being unable to speak the language, it's a given I'll get lost.

As a foreigner, I was reluctant in taking a cab. The amount of times I've been scammed in my previous life when I went to other countries left a pretty big scar.

Fortunately my apartment was located at Tokyo, so I didn't had to travel that far. When I asked a random passersby for directions - one who knew how to speak English, I was lucky enough to find out that the restaurant was close enough to travel on foot.
