"WHERE HAVE YOU been?" A voice demanded at Andrew as soon as he made it into the house that day. Andrew took off his shoes and cautiously looked up, staring at his step-brother who was stood over him, arms crossed and looking rather perturbed. Andrew blinked calmly and pushed his hair out of his face when he stood all the way up.

"Out." He answered flatly.

"Out?" Rafe repeated, tipping his head. "Out with who? It wasn't with us. You never go out otherwise. Who were you out with, Andrew?"

The way Rafe said is name almost made Andrew feel like he was in danger. He back up and bit. "I was just... at the library."

"Now you're a liar." Rafe snapped with a pissed off look. "Kelce saw you out with those fucked Pogues, JJ and Pope."

Andrew stared back at his step-brother. "What, you mean the kid you beat up?" Andrew snapped. "I saw you do it, Rafe. I could easily tell Ward if you wanna make this a thing."

"Don't play this game with me, Andrew." Rafe sneered.

"Really? Because I think Ward will believe me, seeing as I'm more dependable and honest. Should I add the truth about the generator money into my story too?" Andrew asked, crossing his arms to match his brother mockingly. "Test me, Rafe, let's see where this game goes."

Rafe's anger faltered at the mention of this lies. "You can't just go around being seen with those fucked up losers, Andrew. You're a Cameron, you have to act like it."

"I don't have to act like anything." Andrew snapped in response. "Stay out of my business, Rafe, and tell Kelce to fuck off." Andrew took a step forward. "Or I can tell Ward about your assault, thievery and coke addiction."

Rafe glared angrily down at his step-brother who gave him a cocky smile before stepping around him and heading up to his room.

. . . . .

ANDREW GOT BORED. He actually got bored of his studies. That had never happened before. And worse, there were no phone towers, which meant Andrew couldn't text Mr. I-Hate-You. Andrew didn't think he'd ever see the day where not being able to contact JJ would be inconvenient to him. All of May and the start of summer, all JJ did way annoy him over text and then show up and... yeah. But now, Andrew was actually kind of bothered by the lack of texts.

So what did Andrew do on a whim? He went to Heyward's passing by the garage before he decided to take a run down to the store. There was a pretty good chance JJ would be there, Andrew figured. And if not, then at least Andrew would get a good run out of it.
