Y/n had always been infatuated with Emily. Since the moment she first saw her at the BAU, she couldn't get her out of her mind. She thought that maybe, just maybe, Emily felt the same way. They had a connection, shared jokes and late night conversations over cases. But y/n was never sure if it was just platonic or if there was something more.
One night, during a party at Rossi's, y/n finally mustered up the courage to tell Emily how she felt. They were both standing by the bar, sipping on their drinks when y/n spilled her heart out. Emily listened intently and y/n could have sworn she saw a glimpse of something in her eyes. But just as she was about to lean in for a kiss, JJ appeared out of nowhere and planted a kiss on Emily's lips.
Y/n's heart dropped to her stomach. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. She had read the situation wrong, and now she felt like a fool. Trying to hold back tears, she excused herself and left the party. She couldn't bear to watch them together, knowing that she had misread the situation.
For the next few days, y/n couldn't get herself out of bed. She skipped work, canceled plans with friends, and just cried in her room. She felt stupid for thinking that Emily could ever feel the same way about her. She thought maybe she just needed some time to process and move on, but it was harder than she ever imagined.
A few days later, the team found out that JJ and Emily had officially started dating. Spencer and Morgan, y/n's best friends, felt terrible knowing how y/n felt about Emily. They had known all along and wished they could have done something to spare y/n's heartache.
From a distance, Emily could see the hurt on y/n's face. She knew that y/n had feelings for her, but she never thought she could reciprocate them. Emily had always been insecure about her relationships, and she felt like she wasn't good enough for someone like y/n.
Finally, after weeks of avoiding each other, y/n and Emily crossed paths in the office. Emily mustered up the courage to talk to y/n and apologize for any hurt she may have caused. She explained that she had feelings for y/n too, but she was too afraid to act on them. Y/n couldn't believe what she was hearing. She had spent weeks wallowing in self-pity, thinking that Emily didn't care about her, when in reality, they both had feelings for each other.
After that conversation, y/n and Emily started dating in secret. They didn't want to cause any drama at work, but they couldn't stay away from each other any longer. Y/n finally felt like she was on cloud nine. She couldn't believe that Emily felt the same way about her.
But the real shock came when they finally decided to make their relationship public. Everyone was happy for them, except for JJ. She felt like she had betrayed y/n's trust, and she couldn't forgive herself for it. But y/n and Emily reassured her that they had moved on and she had nothing to feel guilty about.
As y/n and Emily's relationship blossomed, they realized that their love was worth fighting for. And even though it started off rocky, it was the most beautiful love story they could have ever imagined. Sometimes, the hurt we feel leads us to something even more beautiful, and that's exactly what happened for y/n and Emily.
