I. Hailey Dilmore (20 yrs old, junior year at college) becomes a teachers' assistant to Professor Hidgens at the Hatchetfield Community College or part-time at Sycamore High School. This story also gives a sneak peek to Hidgens' as a Biology professor.
2. A peek at Hidgens'(62 yrs old) and Emma Perkins' (30 years old) relationship and why she named one of her pot products the Hidgens' Hash.
5. Ceecee is an original character (OC). She is in her early 30s and one of Emma's five housemates (2017 and earlier). She works at the CCRP. She keeps her job secret because of a NDA but it is implied she works in the biological research department of the company. When she was 20, she had Professor Hidgens as her college instructor in Hatchetfield College. She still has a crush on him in spite the man being in his 60s and she tracks his work history because of her career. One of the first words she spoke when they meet each other again was "well, hello, May December" which the professor replies "No, I'm Professor Hidgens." Emma calls her a SCF (senior citizen f*cker).
6. Hidgens live in the forest. And Emma will soon to once she inherited the land. Currently she lives in the edge of the forest with five other people.

These events take place during the first year when Emma returned to Hatchetfield and enrolled herself at community college.
Narrator: It's 2017. Emma Perkins', 30 years old, sitting in the middle row at a classroom laboratory, is at her first day at night school in Hatchetfield Community College.
Emma was working 7am to 4pm at her work at Beanies, a coffee shop. She changed from her work blouse to a new shirt for her first day at class to look more presentable, feeling the first day of school nervousness. Class starts at 5 o clock pm and working students like her start to come in to class, some still in their work outfits.
Emma looks at her college prospectus. B.S. in Botany. She enrolled in four classes which she needs to meet once a week each: Introduction to Biology 201, Principles of Biology 202, Introduction to Plant Botany 220, and Biology in Hatchetfield 130 .
B.S. in Botany. Emma chuckles at the abbreviations but she's serious with her choice. She wants to turn her life around, make her sister proud, and start a pot farm.
She has a lot of experience in pot. From using it and growing and selling pot since she was at Hatchetfield High School to working at various pot farms while backpacking in South America.
But now older and her savings waning and her only sibling and older sister dead, let alone her only surviving closest degree family (her brother-in-law) not able to financially help her , she needs to unlock her family inheritance.
