Wednesday 21st
The next day Wooyoung was roaming around the house, taking note of his surroundings.
This family seemed to be doing quite well, judging by the TV back in the livingroom and the expensive-looking kitchen set, along with a variety of artifacts he didn't know what they were for.
He didn't miss the christmas tree, though.
It was green and large, and it had multiple golden, silver and red balls of different sizes harmoniously distributed all over it, along with other ornaments such as candy canes, bells and pine cones. It seemed to be lighted permanently, small twinkling lights all over it, enhancing its presence.
A very generic tree, in Wooyoung's opinion, but he couldn't help but admire it as he made himself a coffee.
...
He was now sitting on the couch, scrolling through his phone with his coffee on the other hand, when he heard some footsteps approaching.
"Hi Wooyoung." San sits next to him and Wooyoung turns to look at the taller.
"Oh, hi," he says with a smile, now getting a better look at his face. He's not missing any detail of his mesmerizing features.
"Is it good?" San interrupted his train of thoughts.
"What?" Wooyoung blinked.
"The coffee, is it good?"
"Oh yeah" He answered, looking at his half empty mug.
Silence
"Tell me something about yourself," San inquired.
"Uhm, well... I'm 19, I live in Busan, I like partying..." He started, looking for something interesting to share.
San was watching him attentively, as if hearing him speak was the best thing a man could experience.
"I was gonna go to a party before my mom decided to drag me here."
"She dragged you here?" San chuckled.
"Yeah, it's the first time we don't spend Christmas with our family"
"Why not?" San noticed how Wooyoung's smile dropped a little. He was going to say he shouldn't have asked when they heard the soft rustling of the tree and an ornament falling to the floor, followed by a siamese cat coming out to catch it and play with it.
San reached forward to pick the cat and he placed it on the couch between them.
"This is Byeol," he said as he gave him soft caresses.
"She's so cute, oh my god!" Wooyoung joined him in petting the cat.
San didn't know for how long the conversation kept going but he found it really amusing to talk to the boy next to him. His way of expressing had him in some kind of spell he didn't want to break.
He took notice of the way stars glowed in his eyes whenever he mentioned something he liked, and the silky flow of his dark hair every time he moved his head. There was something really special about him and San wanted to look at it forever.
Wooyoung on the other hand didn't know why he was opening up so much to the boy he met just a day ago but he somehow made him feel like he was being listened to and understood; and he didn't notice until then how much he needed that.
...
Wooyoung spent the afternoon shopping with his mom, buying some Christmas gifts for everyone.
Unlike Wooyoung who was clueless, his mom seemed to know where to find good things to buy.
She had been in Ansan a lot more than him, and she loved shopping with her entire soul.
They entered a coffee shop with bags full of gifts, and they sat next to a window.
"It's good to see you enjoy this trip" She said with a smile after the waiter brought them two cups of hot chocolate.
"Who says I am?" he tried to defend.
"I was just assuming that since I saw you talking animatedly with San back at the house," she answered with an amused smile.
"I.." He didn't know how to argue that.
"He's nice, Isn't he?"
"You could say that, yeah" He tried to dismiss it, not wanting to discuss a personal topic with his mom in a coffee shop.
Wait... since when was San a personal topic for him?
His mom seemed to have noticed his internal conflict because she smiled knowingly.
Wooyoung took another sip of his cup and looked through the window, trying at all costs to avoid her accusing eyes.
