Upon hearing the voices, Zhang Yi sneered. His voice silenced everyone present.
"Have the daily meals made you forget your guts?" Zhang Yi's gaze swept across the crowd, landing on Guo Dahai.
Terrified, the portly Mediterranean man hastily took two steps back.
"When I was the floor leader, I made it clear that everyone must listen to me." He revealed a sinister smile. "Hehe, it's only been a few days, and you've forgotten already?"
After saying this, Zhang Yi suddenly drew his pistol and aimed it at Guo Dahai's head, pulling the trigger.
Bang!
Guo Dahai's head exploded into a spray of blood, causing screams from many female neighbors. No one expected Zhang Yi to shoot without hesitation.
"People who don't obey must die," Zhang Yi coldly declared to everyone.
At this moment, everyone remembered that Zhang Yi wasn't the kind neighbor who brought them food; he was the demon who had killed more than half of the building's residents.
The scene fell into an eerie silence, and no one dared to make a sound.
Zhang Yi raised an eyebrow, looking indifferent. "Now, let's go over there and eliminate those members of the Wolf Gang! Anyone in favor, anyone against?"
After a few seconds of silence, Li Chengbin raised his hand. "I agree, following Zhang's lead!"
Others gradually raised their hands, murmuring, "Listen to Zhang Yi!"
Seeing this, Zhang Yi's face regained a gentle smile.
"That's more like it! We're all family, and family should help each other."
"You see, I'm not deceiving you. I took care of those ten people by myself. The rest of them, dozens of you can handle. Isn't that good enough for you?"
"Come on, Uncle You and I will go out to find food for you. Tonight, we'll have an extra meal. Everyone, enjoy a good dinner!"
Zhang Yi's strategy of mixing carrots with sticks was effective. Although the neighbors were initially shocked by Guo Dahai's death, it wasn't their concern. Zhang Yi's promise of bringing back food eased their dissatisfaction.
Holding weapons, they reluctantly headed towards Building 21, whether willingly or unwillingly. After a while, chaotic sounds and cries for help came from inside, indicating the ongoing clash.
Zhang Yi glanced at his watch; the plain, boring Rolex showed the time with no embellishments.
"Let them continue fighting. I have to leave. Otherwise, I won't know what time it is when I come back!"
He looked at Uncle You. "Let's go. You help me this time."
Today's expedition was a routine search, and there wasn't anything specific they needed. Bringing Uncle You along didn't matter.
Uncle You grinned, glancing at Building 21. He nodded. "Alright, let's go!"
Zhang Yi furrowed his brow slightly, seemingly in pain, as if covering his ribs.
"I can't drive the car; I bumped into something while fighting just now, and my ribs hurt a bit."
Uncle You looked at the snowmobile and volunteered, "Then let me drive!"
Zhang Yi smiled and nodded. "Good."
So Uncle You took charge of driving, and Zhang Yi sat behind him. His injury was feigned, but he couldn't trust his back to others. As the War God Yan Shuangying had once said: "Beware of your back!"
The two of them left the community together.
Uncle You didn't have a helmet or goggles, so the cold wind blew on his face, forcing him to squint against the chilly gusts. However, he felt exhilarated. Having been confined within the community for over half a month, he was eager for some fresh air.
"Haha, it feels great to be out!"
"By the way, Zhang Yi, where are we going?"
The World Trade Center was a famous commercial district in Tianhai City.
Uncle You nodded, relying on his memory to drive towards the World Trade Center.
After more than half an hour, the two arrived.
At this moment, the World Trade Center looked like sprouting shoots emerging from the snow, with some of the buildings half-covered. Zhang Yi and Uncle You got off the snowmobile and casually searched the buildings for supplies.
Uncle You, being outside for the first time in a while, found everything in the commercial street novel. Especially those luxury brand counters — gold and silver jewelry, branded clothes, and showrooms with luxury cars...
Once-dreamed-of high-end goods were now unclaimed property, free for the taking.
Uncle You was excited, rushing in to find a bag and grabbing items indiscriminately.
Zhang Yi watched for a moment, realizing that Uncle You was mainly looking for clothes, especially infant and toddler clothing.
Feeling somewhat speechless, Zhang Yi sat down on a nearby chair.
"You and Sister Xie seem to be getting along well," he remarked.
Uncle You, with a simple and honest appearance, licked his lips, saying, "What relationship? We're just living together. Having a woman to warm the bed makes life worth living, right?"
Zhang Yi smiled, his eyes filled with a playful glint.
"If you like this, when we get back, I'll introduce you to a few women with big breasts and big buttocks. Let them serve you well, how about that?"
Uncle You, his back turned to Zhang Yi, clearly felt his body shake.
"This... this isn't suitable. You know, I'm not that kind of person!"
Zhang Yi lifted his chin, revealing a look that said, "I understand what you mean."
He knew that although Uncle You was straightforward, it didn't mean he didn't like women. If he were that way, he wouldn't have easily won Xie Limei over.
"Don't worry. We're buddies; I'll take care of this kind of thing for you in the future!"
Zhang Yi hugged Uncle You's shoulders, wearing a mischievous smile.
"Hey, look at you saying that! I'm a decent person."
Although Uncle You said this, his face was filled with an uncontrollable smile.
"Ah, right!"
Zhang Yi made a judgment in his heart.
Uncle You had feelings for Xie Limei, but they weren't deep. Therefore, if Xie Limei became troublesome in the future, he could deal with her.
However, to avoid affecting his relationship with Uncle You, he would need to find another considerate woman for him.
