there she goes, there she goes again

"So any plans for the weekend?" Coiny turns around to Leafy. Setting his pencil on the essay he's supposed to be writing. Totally giving up. After all, school let out in fifteen minutes. So what's even the point of doing anything at all if you only have fifteen minutes to do it?

"Well, Pin's coming over on Saturday to stay the night! We're gonna stay up sooo late, I'm totally excited!" Leafy replies with great pleasure while drafting out the last paragraph of her essay. "What about you?"

"Uhhhh, let's see, I'm probably just gonna hang around my house the whole time. Maybe I'll go out skating a bit, I dunno."

"Fun! You know, I'm, like, really excited for summer break. Being able to just chill out– Well, I'll have to still go to work, but still! I have a definite feeling it's gonna be really fun this year, I'm so pumped." Leafy fixes her gaze on the clock way up on the wall, waiting for the class to end and for school to finally be over. "Geez, it feels like forever 'till school's gonna be over."

"Oh for sure! Summer's gonna be dope this year, I'm so ready for it." He finishes up his minimal work for the day by writing a lonesome sentence on his paper. "That should do it!" He exclaims with a feeling filled with immense achievement with himself.

After a couple more minutes of grueling anticipation, the sweet sound of the last bell of the day finally rings. Queuing for the students to get the hell out of the place. As always, Leafy and Coiny walk together to their lockers to get their things and leave. Sometimes, Leafy will walk with Pin, but usually, Pin uses her busted-up skateboard as her way of getting to and from school. So Leafy can never really catch her before she's already gone.

On their short walk, they chat. Chatting about a lot of things, from whether Coiny should get a haircut or not, to what breed of cat is the cutest and why. In short, they talk about quite deep stuff.

"See ya!" Leafy calls out to him while they both go their separate ways to get home or wherever else they'd have to go. While Coiny strolls off in the other direction, she unhooks her bike from the lock and heads off to work for the day. The bright shine of the midday sunlight glows on the streets as she pedals down the sidewalks, promptly winding up at the bookstore at the corner of the street that would become main street if you were to walk for just about another block.

The bells attached to the door make a rather chiming sound as soon as Leafy steps in. She immediately goes to the office room to set her backpack down and grab her nametag out of the front pocket.

"Hey, Leafy!" Her boss chimes in, breaking the still silence hanging in the air. "How's it hangin'?"

"I'm doing really well, actually! Got a pretty eventful weekend ahead of me, so... Can't complain!"

"Great! That's so lovely to hear!"

"Thanks! Also–" Leafy starts while fastening her nametag on her shirt, "It's alright if I leave my bag in here, right?"

"Of course! There hasn't really been a time there hasn't... Oh! One more thing,"

"Hm?"

"We got a whole new shipment of books today." She asks while grabbing two boxes chocked full of printed work for many people to read. "Would you be so kind as to shelve these for me?"

"Of course!" Leafy grabs the first box, the weight immediately set in her hands makes it a bit of a challenge to carry halfway out of the room. "Also, thanks a ton for letting me set my bag in there!"

"No problem!"

She carries the box of books over to a table somewhere near the cash desk, waving at her fellow employee working the cashier position.
