The ceremony began, far way from the village as the stage was set and lanterns were out. Villagers gathered around the stage, listening to the mayor speech with monkey king standing beside him looking proud and bold. " how fortunate we poor, ignorant villages?" Looks at monkey irritated before continues "are tonight to witness, the mighty Monkey King's heavenly ascension to join the immortal ones." The major pointed to the sky, back to his speech "He saved our town"
Everyone looks behind them to see the still burning village, breaking down.
The major cringes "Sort of"
Stick murmurs in what sounded like 'sorry about that'
"He is the bravest, most spectac... spectac..." the major stumbles having trouble reading the non-exist word in his scroll, looks at monkey king. "Are you sure?" "It's a word." The major signs and just continues on.
".....Spectacul-errific-amazing-derful hero, the world has ever known. Wait for applause" the major finishing his speech, waiting for their applause. But only one was clapping for monkey king was Guan Yin, "whooo! Monkey king" continuing clapping, trying to get on monkeys good side, she is still here to get monkeys help and she's not leaving without him. Monkey king doesn't think much of it as he just appreciates her cheering, thinking she still likes him as his number one fan.
The mayor announces his next part of the deal " And now a song. Music and lyrics by a handsome artist who, um, wishes to remain anonymous." Clearly he knew who was this mysterious artist, monkey chuckled, waving his hand.
The children of the village began singing.

Monkey king starts to dance into his theme song.

"Thank you, thank you, you're too kind. especially you gorgeous" Monkey king winks at guan yin in the crowd, everyone now looking at her. Guan yin grunts embarrassed, facepalming, This better be worth it. thankfully her embarrassment shortly ended as the major gives monkey king his big medal, "Here's your medal" monkey king happily looked at his medal "yes!"
There was a moment of silence before the major asked
"So where are the immortal ones?" seeing the gods come down to monkey kings ceremony, monkey looked at him unamused.
