Ram's POV
I felt sorry for Jenny. I can't imagine what she went through because I have perfect family anyone can dream of. Family is priority for my parents.
Every time Jenny argued with me, she used to cry, 'you have such a wonderful family, how can you do such things? What will happen to them if they know your true face... how can I reveal your truth...'
Jenny believed I was a playboy, hurt so many girls... she felt terrible to reveal about me. She always wanted a loving family like mine and she is feeling bad to hurt my family
"What happened? Is everything ok between you and Jenny?" Mom's voice brought me out of thoughts. All my family is in living room. I hugged mom, then dad. They are more worried now, asked me what happened.
"I'm blessed to have this family, just wanted to thank you" i said. That didn't reduce their worry
"Not everyone is like you, prioritizing family over other things... You accepted Jenny without a second thought, not thinking about reputation... I can never thank you enough"
"Ram, we are blessed to have this family, it's incomplete without you... Is there a reason why you are emotional... I never saw you like this" dad asked. I don't know what to say exactly
"Jenny's parents are not like you..." I said
"We will talk to them Ram, it's been 5 months, they would have calmed down...Jenny would be missing her family" mom said
"I asked Jenny... she said that they are still angry... we will talk after few more months" I lied. What else can I say? Jenny's parents don't know about our marriage
"Think of kids, once Jenny is pregnant, they would definitely come... Jenny completed exams..."
"What? Kids?" I shouted before I could stop
"I know how this generation kids think, never ready for kids and responsibilities..." dad said looking at me seriously "you didn't go on honeymoon, take a break, go wherever you want...think of kids" he added
"Yes, great idea... poor girl was reading day and night, locked in that room... she needs good vacation" mom said excitedly
Honeymoon? Kids? God! We don't even share that relationship
"It's Jenny's birthday on Christmas..." I said
"And you are telling us now, 2 days before, we brought Christmas tree, planned surprise Christmas celebration for Jenny... if we knew it's her birtbday too, we would have thrown party..." mom said in anger "Veer, call the event manager first thing in the morning..." mom tried to say but I interrupted her
"Mom, Jenny doesn't like grandeur parties, she just wants to spend good time with us..."
"We will go to beach house, we planned surprise Christmas there anyway... now we will have surprise birthday party, just our family" Nisha bhabhi said. We all liked the idea.
When I woke up, Jenny was in front of mirror, wearing mangalsutra. Then she put sindhoor in her hairline. I couldn't help but admire my wife. She is gorgeous. Wife? Am I accepting our relation? What does Jenny think? Does she see me as husband? Is she wearing mangalsutra just for society or respecting our marriage?
"Good morning Ram" I came out of thoughts hearing Jenny's voice. I wished her.
"Sorry I was emotional last night... thank you so much for being with me"
"I will be always there for you Jenny" I told sincerely. She looked at me emotionally
"Ram, you know my real name right..." she said hesitantly
"You want me to call you Janaki?" I asked, she nodded
"Don't you think it's too old? No offense but..."
"I like everyone call me Jenny but Jenny-Ram sounds odd... Janaki Ram is perfect... call me Janaki when we are alone. My name sounds good when you call..." she said looking into my eyes
"I... I... I mean Janaki is my name, I... I miss... hearing my name..." she stuttered "it's late get ready and come for breakfast" she said in hurry and almost ran out of our room
Jenny stutters when she is lying. She likes it when I call her Janaki! Why? Is it because my name is Ram?( Janaki is other name of Sita, wife of Lord Ram). She joined my name to hers', Janaki Ram. She accepts our relation! I feel over the moon
