Farts, Trash, and surprisingly good ass drama we finally stop. The students starts to file off and I get up, pulling the hood over my head and snatching some stray glasses I slip them on as I keep hidden and follow them off and onto the pavement. Breaking away from the group I walk t down the sidewalk far away from the bus.

It doesn't take long as I pass a gas station and some stranded stores here and there, walking off the sidewalk and onto the side of the road I keep straight. Not knowing where the hell I'm going, and I'm too scared to ask I just keep going straight. Seeing dim glowing lights, I follow it until I reach a nice looking diner.

It's nothing new, but it has that old 90's aesthetic. Walking up the steps and pushing open the door, grease and burgers hits my nose. A few people are scattered around. Two men at the bar and a family in a booth. Inhaling I find a booth at back one of the men at the bar, looks over as I walk past. I keep my head down and gaze locked in the booth I want to sit at. Sliding in, I take off the shades and pick up the menu.

Realizing I have no cash, my hands sag in disappointment. "Hey Yah dear know whatcha want?" Looking up I see an older woman. She on the chubby side, but it's the cute munchkin type chubby, shoulder length short grayish brown hair, warm honey colored eyes and a gentle aura she smiles softly at me.

I smile back and point at water on the menu. She smiles and nods "need some more time dear?" I shake my head gently and smile a small smile.

She frowns "ahh, I see" her eyes changes from warm and gentle to cold and judging. My eyes widen as I understand what she might be thinking, blushing I hurriedly shake my hands. Looking confused, I motion at her pen pad. She hesitantly hands it over. Holding my hand out, she gently gives me the pen and I scribble.

I'm not starving myself ma'am I simply don't have enough money for food.

I hand her the note pad and pen back and she reads it, pausing she looks at me as her gaze shifts from judging to pity. "Oh I am so sorry de-" I shake my hands cutting her off.

I put a thumbs up and she nods. Smiling she slips the pad in her apron and sticks the pen in her breast pocket. "I'll be right back with that water" turning she walks off. Sighing I lean back and look around the diner. Other than that one man just staring at me the diner has a cool retro vibe.

Red and white is the color scheme, nice 90's looking booths and barstools. It's even a cute jukebox by the entrance the only modern thing they have is the tv, it's hooked up above the window where the orders are taken at.

The news is on as the reporter talks about the weather and how it's starting to get colder, as the weather shifts a missing person report comes on, a picture of me appears. The lady walks over sitting down the water, my eyes stay glued to the screen as the lady on the screen states my name, age, height, and weight. A number rolls on the screen as she says to call this number if I've been seen, even a cash prize is awarded to the finder.

"Oh dear," the woman says softly as I tear my gaze from the screen and look at the woman. My eyes are wide and fearful as I pled with her. She has a look of understanding, the man from the bar squints at the tv before looking back at me. His eyes widen. "Holy shit. John. That girl is here" The John guy puts down his burger and looks where his friend is looking at.

Four sets of eyes stare dead at me, feeling sweat build up, I quickly get up to leave. The lady gently but firmly grabs my wrist. Stalling I look back as she stares up at me. "Follow me" pulling me gently she walks toward the back of the diner. I hear that one dude talk about how much money they finna get for turning me in.

Panicking I start to pull on my arm, the older lady grip doesn't budge as she continues to drag me, opening a door we enter the kitchen. Walking past a very confused looking cook, she opens another door into a small office.

Pushing me in gently, she steps in closing the door softly. Crossing her arms over her chest she stares at me with a firm look. "I know I'm not in no position to scold you young lady, but if I was running away, a diner will be the last place I'll come too. Especially in such a small town, and seeing how that young man is calling that number you have about ten to fifteen minutes before the authorities get here."

She shakes her head as her gaze soften up and a small smile graced her thin lips "I'm sorry, I didn't get to even introduce myself. I'm Dina. I own this diner, and I apologize for earlier. I should've judged you" I shake my head and shrug.

"Considering that you haven't spoken not one word, I'm going to guess you are mute" I nod she hums. "Well...I don't know your situation but I trust your a kind person. Can't believe I'm doing this. I'm going to take you to the next town over, it's about an hour drive, just to help you out...I don't ever think I saw such an expression in someone eyes like I have with you..." grabbing a jacket and some keys she opens the door and turns.

"Zachary! Call Vanessa! She covering me while I go out!" Flicking her wrist toward her, I get up and follow her out the office and toward a door leading to the back.

Opening it she walks toward an old looking truck, "this ain't much but it's gets me from point a to point b" yanking on the handle she opens her door. Following her lead, I get in and sit on the seat before putting on my seatbelt.

Closing my door, she gets in and starts the truck before putting on her seatbelt. Putting the truck into drive she takes off.
