Third Person's P. O. V.

When Veshniu opened her eyes for the first time again, napatanong siya sa sarili niya kung bulag ba siya o purong dilim lang talaga ang nakikita niya. 

Walang kahit na anong sinag ng liwanag ang kinaroroonan niya, pero ramdam niya ang maliliit na insekto na bumabalot sa buong katawan niya, pati na rin ang nakakasulasok na amoy ng paligid.

"A--" she tried to speak but—

    Her eyes started to swell up.

Her voice is there.... but she doesn't know what to say...

   She can't remember anything. 

She didn't know who she was, where is she? or why is she in a dark place? Can she speak? Why can't she see anything?

She was deprived of breathing, she was having a panic attack in the middle of an unknown place, in the middle of foul smell, in the middle of many insects...

Between uncertainty and unknown, she tried to gasp for air and moves.

She needs to survive.

But in the middle of insanity and desperation to live, millions of questions keep surfacing in her head as she continues to survive,

Where is she? 

Well....She doesn't know.

But she's eight feet underground, surrounded by many corpses and mummies, as well as millions or thousands of centipedes...

She was in a place called the Graveyard of Isfets.

A place in Egypt no one knows.

It was morning, but in Veshiu's place, it was neither morning nor night. Well, there is no light, so how can you determine the lightness or darkness? A daytime or nighttime? 

It was already ten days after she woke up. 

One may ask, how did she survive those ten days? 

 The answer is adaptation. Humans are flexible, and so is Veshniu. 

Sa madilim na lugar, tanging mata ni Veshniu ang nagliliwanag habang kinakain niya ang alupihan. She preys on insects, she eats centipede's flesh, she draws their blood and drinks it...

She did everything...as a means to survive. 

Now, her eyes finally adjusted to the darkness. Kaya na niya makakita ngayon sa dilim.

    Habang nakaupo siya sa gitna ng tila puntod na gawa sa malamig na marmol, pinagmasdan niya ang buong paligid. Her eyes which were as if depraved of life observed her surroundings.

The sight she's seeing is so horrible. 

Nasa loob siya ng silid na merong apat na pader, at ang buong paligid niya—

Her surroundings were filled with only corpses with bondages and millions of centipedes...

But what's different is that there's an old staff located at the exact place where she woke up.

Months have passed. Kabisado na ni Veshniu ang buong paligid niya.
