It has been twelve days.
And seven dates.
And Win cannot do this any longer.
It was too much. Enough is enough.

He was taking things in his own hands quite literally.

So here he was perched on top of a ladder, picture hooks in one hand, basket of decor in the other.

Sure, he could have asked for help. And he did. But when Win told Gun the plan he walked out on him saying, he loved Win but he needed more alcohol before he could deal with him and his nonsense.

Which, you know, fine. It might actually be better if Win had the whole of his Sweet Nothings to himself. That would work way better for him once Bright arrived.

Win presses the adhesive side of the picture hook on the ceiling and counte to a hundred. As he does this, he surveys the rest of the ceiling area. He sighs.

"This is too much work," he shouts in exasperation. "Why won't he just do what I need him to do!"

"Who won't do what you need him to do?"

Win is shocked by the voice that he preemptively lets go of the picture hook and the ladder. All three come tumbling down.

Win closes his eyes, prepared to spend Christmas at the ER but he feels himself whisked away and pressed into an impossibly sturdy, impossibly sweet smelling chest.

"Hello," Bright smiles at Win.

"Hi," Win smiles back.

Both oblivious to the loud thundering crash of the ladder, the basket, the decor and the hooks to the floor.

"What were you doing on that ladder?"

"I uh. I was..."

Bright picks up a couple the decor now littering the floor.

"Don't look at that!," Win protests but it's futile because they're everywhere.

"Is this...mistletoe?"

Win is as red as Rudolph's nose. He nods yes.

Bright looks around them. "What were you doing hanging a hundred? Two hundred mistletoes?"

"Two hundred twenty..." Win whispers, turning redder.

"Two hundred twenty?? What for?"

"I wanted to make sure that um..."

"That?"

"You know..."

Bright ears and neck were also flushing red now. His lips were stretched into a wide grin. "Were you making sure we walked under one?"

"Do not laugh at me! It's been seven dates Bright. Seven and you haven't...you have not..."

"Kissed you. I was making sure you were ready, Win. I didn't want to rush you into- "

"Who isn't ready after seven dates!? So I had to take matters into my own hands. Do you know how difficult it is to glue gun ribbons on mistletoe?"

"Win, you could have just kissed me."

Win stammers. His words become gibberish. "But I well you see the I maybe...don't change the subject Guntithanon! You should have kissed me by now. Unless you don't want to. In that case we should - "

Bright brings a thumb to Win's jaw and very carefully caresses it. "I want to."

"Oh."

He brings another hand to Win's other cheek. "Can I kiss you Win?"

"Do you even have to ask?," was Win's not believably indignant reply.

"I want to know for certain that you want this. That you want me. Can I kiss you?"

"Yes. Please, yes."

Bright leans forward and obliterates all space between them.

Their lips meet, their eyes close.
Win clutches Bright's collar, wanting him closer and closer.

Bright waited for this for years and the reality was still a thousand times better than the dream. Win tasted of chocolate and oranges, his lips felt like marshmallows, everything about him was intoxicatingly sweet.

Bright pulls away.

Win's eyes open wide. His mouth hangs open. At that moment, something shifts. He feels different. His body, his soul, his heart - all changing at the same time.

He didn't know how to explain it.
He couldn't quite understand it.

But there was one thing he understood - that he needed more of it.

He pulls on Bright's scarf making Bright stumble forwards. Win catches him in his arms then catches his mouth in his.

This kiss is sweeter, deeper. Their hands finding their way into each other's hair and each other's waists.

White heat spreads through Metawin. Not a carnal heat - although there definitely was that - but one that melted away all the frost he had inside him. One that ravaged the walls around his heart, turning them into ash.

It was a heat so potent it glowed like a thousand suns and whatever darkness lived inside him all these years were chased away by light.

Metawin's light has returned. With every press of lip, with every touch of tongue, with every push of their bodies closer - Win became brighter.

"Can I keep kissing you?," Bright asks, fingers playing with Win's ears and the soft tendrils of hair escaping his nape.

"Yes," Win whispers into Bright's mouth.

God he loved him.

Win gasps.

I love him.

I love him so much.
