later that evening, aurora found herself sitting alone in her bedroom. although the sturniolo's were still downstairs with her mother, father and her little sister.
she could hear all of them laughing, but one's laugh stood out the most to her. it sounded like the most genuine and wholesome giggle she had ever heard. almost like a child's, but she knew it did belong to her sister. she found herself quietly giggling at whoever's laugh it was.
the particular laugh she was studying came to a sudden stop. not long after, she heard footsteps getting closer and closer as the person came closer to the top of the staircase.
chris walked right past her bedroom and into the bathroom.
the laugh belonged to chris.
aurora shook her head. she was disgusted. she couldn't believe she found chris' laugh wholesome and genuine. she couldn't believe she had just thought of something positive about christopher sturniolo.
the sound of discreet knocking on her door put her thoughts to an abrupt halt. rory turned to see chris leaning against her door, looking at her.
why is he trying to talk to her again?
"why're you up here all by yourself?" chris asked, still standing at the door.
"i don't want to socialize." she replied keeping her back to him.
"me neither."
but he was laughing and joking with everyone just a few moments ago?
"i heard you laughing with everyone just a few minutes ago chris."
"that doesn't mean i wanted to be there aurora." he shot back. "i was going to ask you if i could stay up here with you."
"you're so weird."
"you're weirder."
