It surprised everyone, that Alec and Jacob became fast friends. They bonded over their love of cars. Alec has a collection of cars back in Volterra. Not that we ever used them, but he liked they way they looked. The Volturi coven has a very large bank account, because they've been around so long. We can basically have whatever we want. Like Alec I also have a collection, but mine is shoes. The room next to ours in the castle was renovated to become a closet for my shoes. I suppose I got my habit for shopping from Alice.
Soon it was time to go back to Volterra. I was sad to have to leave my family. I hugged everyone goodbye, but when I got to Alice she said, "You'll be free of the Volturi sooner than you think." I had no idea what that meant.
When we got back to Volterra it seemed everyone was on edge. I later learned it was because the Romanians were building a army. They were going to try to take over as the leaders of vampires, like we did to them centuries ago.
