Dally POV;
"So..did you and Naomi make up?" Ponyboy asked, sitting next to me on the couch. I was drinking a beer that I stole from there fridge and he seemed to notice.

"That was Steve's he was saving it, he's gonna be pissed."

"Whatever pony..and yeah we did make up." Our little conversation was interrupted by the door opening. Me and pony turned our head in sync.

Johnny stumbled in, all bloody and bruised. I got up quickly..

"Who did this Johnny? Tell me I'll beat the shit out of them I swear..!" I went on. I couldn't stand him being beat all the time. I'm not calling myself soft or sweet or anything..but me and Johnny were close, and he wasn't annoying.

"I-it's fine..dal.."

"No it's fucking not!! Tell me!!" I didn't mean to yell at him. His facial expression changed to a scared one, and for the first time in a while I felt my heart burn. I call it heart burning because it hurts..a lot. It also feels like your heart drops in your stomach. Like a rollercoaster kind of, when you build up to the top and then go down a big drop.

He turned away from me and pony took him upstairs.

"Hey man..I didn't mean it.." I called out. He didn't answer.

I decided that I wasn't wanted in there anymore for a while so I took the hint and left. I decided to go over to Naomi's for a bit to hang out.

It was a bit warmer today, so walking wasn't as bad. I lit a cigar and smoked while I walked so I wouldn't be bored out of my mind, but my boredom didn't last long once I saw three girls across the street, fighting over a leftover gas station pizza, one was blonde and tall, and the other two were brunette..one brunette was tall and the other was short.

What a lovely little town I live in.

I knocked on Naomi's front door, just in case she was changing because I walked in on her changing when I didn't knock once.

No answer.

I knocked again.

No answer.

Whatever it's not like I haven't seen her naked before..I walked in and the house was quiet, no Billy idol record or Elvis record playing. Weird.

I went up to Naomi's room and no one was there..how on earth? A cars here, and the garage is open so someone has to be here.

"Naomi..?" I roamed around for a bit, calling her name and saying-

"This isn't funny you fuckin idiot."

I went back up to her room once more just to check and saw a little note folded on her dresser.

I picked it up and opened it, it read:

Dear reader,
This is Naomi hudson Davis writing from her home bedroom. Please whoever is reading this tell Dallas Winston, who lives at bucks bar, that I will be back soon. Also please give him the white box on the top of my closet, thank you.

From, Naomi.

Damnit not again!! Shit not again!!

I cursed under my breath and hurried over to her closet. I searched rapidly for a white box like the one in the letter. I found it and it was surprisingly light compared to the last box she left us at Christmas.

I opened it and there was another letter, I didn't drop out of school just to read letters after letters but whatever. I tore it open and read.

Hey dal..hope you get this. I kept it safe for the long time span I had it. But I can't promise I will be back..I did say "I'll give it back over my dead body" a few weeks ago though. I love you dally, I love you so fucking much.

Love, Naomi hudson Davis—or your girlfriend either one.. :)

I dug further into the box and took out the gift..

That damn leather jacket.
