"Ayaan?"

Ayaan turned to look at the source of the voice and was shocked to see who it was.

"Preeti." He didn't call her name. It was like he was convincing himself that it was actually her. He stood up at the sight of her and Preeti engulfed him in a hug.

Alara was witnessing the sight trying not to get uncomfortable. She knew he had a past but didn't know that it would interfere in their future.

"So Ayaan tell me. What's with this new wedding drama? Is this to make me jealous or something because I'm not jealous I'm just disappointed in your poor choice. I heard she's a homewrecker and quite scandalous." She was cut of by Alara very soon.

"Hi I'm Alara the homewrecker/ Ayaan's wife however you would like to call it." She spoke faking a smile.

"I'm not someone who is going to trust some bullshit rumour over my wife and I want the people I know to respect her instead of putting her down." He knew it wasn't necessary for him to defend her but he just wanted to do so for her.

"Well I was just joking." Preeti smiled looking at the couple and immediately left the place.

The next few minutes were painfully silent and awkward for both of them. Alara didn't bother to ask who she was as she was least interested in her. She was just like other online trolls but this was just right on her face.

"She is my ex girlfriend." Ayaan spoke breaking the silence. Alara didn't respond and pretended she didn't hear anything.

"Are you done? If you're then I'm leaving." Alara got up and left the place leaving him behind. Ayaan sighed and rubbed his forehead.

Alara was complex. She acted like she didn't give a fuck about him but when a girl gets close to him she shuts herself off and goes back to her cold self.

Ayaan followed her and went back to their house. He knocked on her room door and found it to be open. He went inside and saw her removing her accessories. She didn't notice him entering the room despite standing in front of a mirror.

"Look I don't have any feelings-"

"I don't need your explanations Ayaan. We are just married for name sake and we aren't a couple so calm down. I don't care if you have feelings for her or not." She sighed and cut him off.

Ayaan was standing behind her and looking at her through the mirror. Unknown to him his legs started moving towards him. He was so close to her that she could feel his breath just below her ear.

She closed her eyes not knowing what to do with the sudden close proximity. "You're messing with my brain Alara."

They were interrupted when her phone started ringing and he quickly got away from her and left her room. Alara composed herself and picked up her phone. It was Vansh.

"Hey Vansh."

"Hi Di...umm we are having a family dinner tomorrow so can you please come with Ayaan Jiju?"

"I'll- I'll see and let you know." Alara didn't want to attend the dinner. She didn't want to meet any of her family and at the same time didn't want to come out blunt to her brother.

"Yea okay then I'll talk to you later Di." Alara cut the call and made her way towards the closet to change her dress. Once she wore her nightdress she slipped into the covers and scrolled through her phone.

Much to her surprise she saw Ayaan's fan pages sending her positive messages and was confused. She thought they would be hating on her but when more positive supportive messages came up she got curious and went to Ayaan's profile and was shocked to see his story.

She never realised he took a picture of her and it was more shocking to see him post her picture on his story. A small smile was on her lips but it soon faltered when she remembered that this was probably a publicity stunt of his.

The whole night went by in a blur. Her health was deteriorating after her parents death and she wasn't ready to accept it too. Everytime she tried to sleep all she saw was her parents face and would wake up from a nightmare.

Alara went to kitchen to see him cooking shirtless with grey sweatpants. She gulped looking at him. She was ashamed of herself for getting turned on by a guy who is cooking.

"Oh you're awake. Good morning." He smiled at her while kneading the dough. He was kneading it with so much concentration and she would see his veins on his arms. She looked at his fingers in detail and wondered what else it could do. As if she was broken from a trance she quickly cleared her throat and greeted him back.

"I'm making chole bhature is it okay for you?"

" Uh yeah it's fine." She replied while pretending to read the days newspaper as she was staring at him.

Ayaan went near her to get the spatula and noticed her holding the newspaper upside down.

"You can look at me baby why do you need to pretend reading a newspaper." He smirked.

"Oh please I would rather read the news than to look at you."

"You sure about that?" He asked all the while bringing his two fingers into his mouth and tasting the masala all the while looking at her. Alara was getting frustrated with him and knew that she wanted to pin him against the wall and kiss him so hard. She wanted to sit on his and ride him well.

'What the fuck is wrong with you alara.' She thought to herself and shook her head.

"So i was wondering if we should go out tonight."

"We just went out yesterday Ayaan."

"I know but it was ruined so i thought why not take you out tonight." He just shrugged.

That's when it hit Alara that she has to meet her family tonight and if she went out with Ayaan it would be a perfect excuse.

"Okay then let's go out." She smiled at him and waited for her breakfast to be served. It was so aromatic that she was really eager to eat it.

"And here our breakfast is ready." Ayaan brought the chole bhature to the dining table and Alara went to the kitchen to get the cutlery.

She took the first bite and was amazed by how flavourful it was.

"Oh my god Ayaan this is so good." Ayaan smiled at her genuinely and started eating his food.

"Ayaan can we go to the amusement park tonight?" Alara looked at Ayaan expectantly

"Ayaan can we go to the amusement park tonight?" Alara looked at Ayaan expectantly.

"I've already made plans Alara...but we will see." He spoke all while looking at his plate and eating.
