It was the day of the wedding and it was taking place in Dutt's backyard. Only both the families were present and limited media members were present.

The Malhotras had reunited again after a long time and were really happy to be present there.

Alara had thought none of her family had noticed how uncomfortable she was in the wedding but how wrong she was. All the while she was zoning out in her own marriage a pair of eyes had been looking at her cautiously as always. It was Aditya.

Aditya Malhotra was never the kind of person who showed his emotions bluntly other than to his wife Sara Malhotra.

Alara being the first child, he always had a soft corner for her. They were never treated as cousins by their parents and were instead like siblings.

She gazed at him looking at her and softly smiled at him. He knew she didn't like something but he couldn't do anything right now as somewhere he felt he would be over crossing the boundaries and didn't want Kabir to think he was interfering in his daughter's life.

Alara and Ayaan were seated next to each other and did all the rituals as the pandit said.

It was time for him to tie the nuptial chain and took some sindoor to apply on her partition. It was the first time he had seen her today and he hated how she looked. She was beautiful and he didn't like it. As he was applying the sindoor some fell on her nose.

They took the blessings from the elders and it was time for vidaai. Rehan was an emotional wreck by that time. Everyone in her family was kinda emotional but Alara on the other hand had little to no emotion at all.

They had moved to Ayaan's mansion instead of his house. This was her new house now and yes it was difficult for her to wrap her whole life into a few suitcases within a week. But she managed to do so.

Ayaan had already assigned her separate bedroom and was very particular about her not disturbing him. Their rooms were just a floor apart. She stayed on the second floor while he was on the first.

It had been 2 days since their wedding and none of them spoke with each other. Mehek had cancelled all her shoots for the next 1 week without asking Alara and similarly Ayaan's schedule for the week was free too causing both of them to be in the same house.

Alara had opened Google and saw her wedding pictures circulating online.

"Uhhh now I can't even go out without questions about my married life." She hated every second of being married.

There wasn't much difference in Ayaan's place. Nobody bothered to ask if she was okay or if she wanted to eat something. Just like how it was before. Alara was no damsel in distress. That's what she said to herself everyday.

It was a routine for her. She will go downstairs and there would be food on the dining table and she would serve herself and eat.

There were times when no food was left for her, she didn't want to order out considering her dietary restrictions and just starved the whole day.

She needed fresh air and called Mehek to inform about her public appearance. Alara stepped out of the house without the nuptial chain and bangles. It was a custom to wear it and she chose not to despite Mehek's advice.

The moment she stepped out of the car paparazzi surrounded her bombarding her with questions she didn't want to answer.

"Why did you get married suddenly?"

"Are you pregnant and that's why you forced him to marry you?"

"Is this just another PR stunt of yours?"

"Is it true that this is just a cover up for sleeping with Jai Raichand?"

With each passing minute the questions just got worse. She managed to ignore everyone and get into the salon.

"You never really listen to me do you?" Mehek knew she would pull a stunt like this and came to the salon before her.

More than her manager, Mehek was like a big sister Alara never had. She really loved Mehek but would never admit it.

"I don't care-"

"I care meri maa...each and every action of yours is all i care about." Mehek was frustrated with Alara's ignorance.

"You know what, I need a break from you and your drama. You handle all this for a week and I'll return and then you'll understand what I've been doing." She rushed out of the salon leaving Alara flabbergasted.

Of course Alara could be on her own. The only reason she had Mehek was because Aditya hired her. If Aditya had approved something of course it was a big yes for her.

It's not like she didn't like Mehek's control in her life and she wasn't really disappointed that she left. She never really cared who entered and exited her life anymore.

Alara left the salon and ignored the paparazzi once again. She reached home and her phone pinged continuously. She was tagged in numerous articles.

"Alara Dutt was spotted without her nuptial chain. Is there trouble in paradise?"

"Newly wed Alara Dutt is applying for a divorce already?"

She just laughed at the articles. As more time passed by, the issue became bigger and bigger to a point where people concluded that she was cheating on Ayaan and had an abortion of Jai's child.

She wondered how Mehek managed these. She used to subside all the rumours within minutes and without her by her side it was getting worse for Alara.

This hate wasn't new for her, but not having anyone to handle this together was stressing her out. She never spoke to Mehek as to how disturbing it was but somehow Mehek seemed to understand her.

For the first time in a long time, she felt her heart beat racing. Her fingers trembled and her eyes welled up with tears making her vision unclear. She felt like her teenage self again. Wanting someone to be next to her when she was going through something bad. But just like those times she had no one next to her.

She opened her draw and took out the anti depressants tablets. She had been trying to not have those for a while. But the circumstances were just making it worse for her and she had no other choice.

Taking 2 pills out of the bottle she immediately chucked water and switched off her phone making her way towards the bed. She didn't want to think about anything and tried to sleep. After so many days, she felt herself sleeping peacefully.
