After Ollie had put on his shoes,we walked out of the shed together . The air was crisping fresh. The bright light of the sun flooded between the tree branches and onto Ollie's hair. It looked quite lovely. As I glanced over to him , we made eye contact. So I decided to compliment him on his hair. „Your hair looks very pretty in that lighting." I said, not really thinking much of it and viewing it as an act of kindness not anything more or less. He smiled at my words. „Thanks!"was all that he replied with but I could see him smiling for the next ten minutes. He had what people call an upside down smile.
As he was showing me around, two people around my age walked up to us. They were 2 guys. They seemed like their own clique. Then, they started talking to Ollie, leaving me to be the bystander. While they were chatting I walked in small circles to entertain myself for a bit.
That's when I saw him. A dog. He was huge. I'm pretty sure those dogs are called „Saint Bernard's" like the song. I didn't know if I should've been intimidated. He was laying on the ground, with his head resting on his big paws. Ollie called me over to him and his friends. When I got to them, Ollie had already started introducing me to them. „Alright guys this is Alex. He's a new guy here so be nice." he said in a rather sarcastic tone, which I found odd since I'd like them to be nice to me. But whatever I'm looking too deep into this one interaction. „Hey man. I'm Finn." a very tall guy with blond long hair informed me. He looked like someone straight out of a ghibli movie. „And I'm Milo!" the second guy cheered. He had darker hair that was curly and a nose piercing ,that was probably done unprofessionally as it seemed crooked. As I became more acquainted with the duo and even Ollie, I felt more and more comfortable in this foreign environment. I found out that the duo shared a shed too and that it was very close to ours. Wich meant that we were basically neighbors.
„It's almost six you guys, let's go!" Milo called while pointing at the watch on his wrist.
As we all started to move towards the big building that seemed to be the lobby area I saw before, Ollie stopped moving for a moment to walk next to me. I noticed he was still wearing his pjs.
„So,we're going to the cafeteria right now. It's basically a hanging out spot too. It's where we eat dinner." He explained. „Watch out for food fights though!" he joked, which made us both chuckle a little. But I genuinely started to worry about getting bombarded with food. Whatever Alex you're overthinking again.
