After Ruin was reset??
This was like before Solar was his nameLunar treaded carefully around the daycare. He knew it should be safe, most likely, but he didn't want to take the chance of death, again. He paused when he heard something, darting his eyes to the large doors of the daycare. A shaky sob came from the room, muffled by the doors
Nobody was supposed to be in the daycare. Well, at least, Sun and Moon asked for nobody to go in. However, there was someone there today. Shaky sobs came from the security desk, low and almost unhearable. Eclipse sat in a ball, back against the security desk. He held his rays, grabbing at them every few seconds.
Crying had never done him any good. Fuck knows what would happen if his Moon found him like this. Maybe he'd tell him to suck it up, or continue ranting about how it's his fault Sun was gone or something like that. Or maybe--
" Eclipse? "
He jumped back, banging his head on something. He didn't bother to look. " Lunar? Shit, shit, uhm.. You aren't supposed to be here. Nobody is. " It'd been, 3 day's. The daycare looked like nothing had happened. He'd finished getting all the rubble up, but still needed to fix some things.
" Were you.. Crying? " they tilted there head. Lunar had never seen anyone cry. Ever. In front of him. Besides maybe the occasional child or something. He sat down next to the other, pausing. ".. Please don't call me that, Lunar. " his voice was shaky, as if he was seconds from sobbing again.
Lunar didn't know what to do. They were never any good at this sort of thing. Earth usually handled that kind of stuff. " Are you.. Ok? " The other shrugged, rocking back and fourth a little. " Are you gonna get upset if i vent to you? " Lunar shook their head, he continued.
" I've been feeling like shit for.. A long time. Longer than is normal. I- i escaped death in my dimension, and.. Nothings new. " he paused, then continued. " I still feel like-- god, how do i describe this... Like, this doesn't feel like my own body. My own name. That name-- Eclipse. It just.. It just sounds so wrong. It doesn't feel like my own. "
" Why not change it? " Lunar offered up a suggestion. He turned his head to them, thinking it through. " Heh, maybe.. " he hesitated, before shaking his head. " I.. Maybe that'd be good. Maybe that's what's bugging me. Besides this, " he gestured to the body he was currently in, " That's what's been bugging me.. "
He felt the other put a hand on his shoulder, an attempt at comforting him. " I don't know how to comfort people-- i think Earth is better at this than i am. You need help, more help than I can give. " he laughed a bit, before realising Lunar was being serious.
".. Yea i guess i do. " He tugged at his rays, sighing. " Maybe i should talk with Moon about that. Maybe Rui--..Eclipse, too. " He'd ended up talking to them more than he'd expected. Their conversations were friendly.
" You got a name picked out? " Lunar spoke suddenly. " Unless i wasn't listening..which i tend to do, that's what you want to do, right? Change your name? What's the call? " he hesitated, thinking about it for a minute.
".. Solar. My name's Solar. "
Solar nodded, " That feels.. Less wrong than Eclipse does, i guess.. " Lunar stood, offering a hand even though they knew he could get up by himself. " I'm gonna sound like Earth here, but you need a break. " he shrugged, stumbling to his feet. " Sure, why not? "
he wiped his faceplate, hoping there weren't any signs of what had happened. Lunar practically dragged him out of the daycare, something about the arcade. He crossed his arms, hugging them to his chest. He was.. Better. Solar. It felt better, fit better than Eclipse ever did.
And it scared him. He didn't know why he felt this way, why that name had such an effect on him. Maybe it was because of its reputation? Or.. Maybe cause he never chose it in the first place. He shook his head, not wanting another flashback.
" Solar? You good? " Lunar's voice broke through his spiral of thought. He looked down at the smaller animatronic, nodding. " Perfectly.. Well, not perfectly, but I'm fine. Where are you taking me again? " they thought for a second. " Arcade! I feel like you don't get out enough. " he sighed, feeling called out. " Yea, i guess.. "
