Greg is on his way to his Mathematics class and he is running late. He had to go back to the canteen to look for his phone. Fortunately for him, one of the staff found it on the table where he and his classmates were sitting during lunch break.
"Prof Padley is going to make me dance in front of the whole class if I'm going to be ten minutes late, and really now I only have three minutes left before I embarrass myself." Greg sprinted and climbed the stairs of the main university building. Panting, he continued taking two stair steps at a time. He checked his phone for the time. He saw five notifications, one of which is from FB. Knowing that he is already late, he stopped to open the notification. **Liz Chua has accepted your fried request.**
Liz is on her way to her hospital internship. She will be working alongside a scrub nurse for her first ever major surgery. While on the bus, she was reading articles and reviewing her notes regarding her surgical case. She will be assisting one of the top surgeons in the country which made her very anxious. While scrolling through the article, a notification popped up. It was an FB message from Greg Corpuz. She ignored the notification for now and continued reviewing. Checking the time, it's already 7:20 and the traffic is quite bad. Without hesitation she pressed the buzzer to signal the bus driver that she wants to get off on the next stop. From there she will just walk to the hospital which will take about 10 minutes. By doing so, she will reach the hospital and be ready for team briefing in time. It took another ten minutes before she reached the bus stop. In London, there are designated bus stops. You can only get off and catch the bus from these areas.
Now running late, Liz got off the bus hastily, bumping people who are trying to get on the bus. "Hey! watch it!!", yelled a man. "For God's sake woman, watch where you're going!!" shouted another. "Excuse me, I'm so sorry, I'm running late. I'm really sorry!" replied Liz. She is now running towards the hospital.
She reached the hospital entrance at exactly 07:40 in the morning. She hurried up the stairs towards the third floor. She got changed into scrubs, placed her ID badge in her pocket and went to the Operating Room immediately. She reached just in time. Huffing and puffing, she greeted the nurses good morning. She wanted to check her phone but when she checked her pocket, she realised she left it in her locker. "Oh well, my mom will call the department directly if there is an emergency anyway." muttered Liz. A few minutes later, the surgeon arrived and started briefing the team about the case, what equipment he needs and how he wants the nurses to assist. The scrub nurse introduced Liz and informed the surgeon that Liz will be assisting him under her supervision. "Well then Nurse Liz, get scrubbed in and let's have some fun while saving a life. Good luck!" said the surgeon. Liz, felt acknowledged and encouraged at the same time. She smiled with excitement and carried on to the scrubbing area to get ready for the case.
