Liberta's pov:
It was on the battlefield when I saw Lucilla again. Her scythe tore through my allies as easy as ripping paper. My heart pounded in my chest as I approached her. "Lucilla!" I called out, keeping my weapon close but not touching it. She spun around, shock setting in. "How do you know my name Pigeonhead?" She demanded getting into a battle stance. I quickly held out my hands in a calming gesture.
"I've come to talk to you Lucilla. Not to fight you. I need to tell you something." I slowly put my weapon in the ground. Watching Lucilla's movements. Her mouth set in a firm line and she dropped the stance. Her scythe scratched the ground as she came closer. She shoved me against a boulder and pressed her scythe to my chest. "Start talking." She growled.
"Listen I know you're confused. But just look at me. Please Lucilla just look." Please recognize me. I begged her. Finding out my enemy is my sister without her memory. It stirred more feelings in me than I know what to do with. My heart ached at her being so lost. I watched her eyes, watching as confusion and recognition entered. Her scythe hit the ground with a loud clang. She took a half step back.
"I-I.... I know you." She whispered softly. I took a slow step forwards, hands infront of me. "Easy, easy. I know, I didn't know how to process that either." I spoke softly, like calming a scared animal. I gently reached forwards and took her hands in mine. "Listen just hear me out. We know each other because we grew up together. Lucilla, we're...... I'm your brother." I tried to squeeze her hand reassuringly.
"I... I don't have siblings or a family." She whispered uncertainty. I let go of her hands and reached into my pocket. Pulling out the papers I've been brought. "Read this. See if you recognize much." Her hands brushed mine as she took the papers. I heard her gasp, she reached into a pocket on her dress. And pulled out more. The papers I was missing. A gasp left me as I took what she offered me. Pieces of a puzzle sorted into place. The weapons, the cradle of truth. We were the weapons. We are the weapons.
Lucilla's mismatched eyes met mine. I could see the tears in them. "I..... Libtera?" Her voice came through uncertain. I nodded fighting back my own tears. Lucilla hide her face in her hands. "I'm so sorry! I was suppose keep you safe and and and I failed!" She fell to the ground sobbing. I instantly followed after her. Pulling her into my arms. "Shhhh, it's not your fault Lucilla." I brushed through her hair, like she used to do for me.
"That much weight shouldn't of been on your shoulders. Especially alone, we should've held it together." I lifted her chin to look at me. "Our parents shouldn't of put so much on your shoulders. But it's oh kay. We're here now. We found each other." I smiled, my heart felt was but something was missing. Lucilla wiped away her tears, but we stayed against each other. Her chin rested on my shoulder, and mine on hers.
"I'm so sorry I forgot you." She mumbled. I sighed and squeezed a little. "You were forced, it's oh kay. You remembered when you needed to." Thank goodness she did. I would of been killed if she didn't.
I don't know how long we stayed like that. The war forgotten, our sides forgotten. There was no Hypogeans or Celestials. Just siblings, just my sister and I. Until Lucilla left my arms and stood up. Offering her hand to me. I let her help me to my feet and we grabbed our weapons.
"We have a job to do Liberta." Lucilla gained a smile, one of mischief. "Oh really?" I felt my own form. "First we gotten fake our fight. Then..." She paused dramatically.
"Why don't we get our dads?"
